There are many things involved in a website that are more important than the advertising.

Do you have content? Is the website innovative and original? Is there compelling reason for visitors you've already had return to the site again and again? Is there compelling reason for those visitors to inform others about the website?

If you answered "no," to ANY of those questions, you don't need to worry about advertising, as it'd just be a waste of time. If you answered yes to all those questions, most of the advertising and population growth of the website will come through street cred and word of mouth. It's a slow, agonizing process, but it does work. Once you get to that point, and beyond there, then you can start worrying about advertising.

and i know you said word of mouth, but is there any other way that is free. i ont have the money to pay for the advertising it really requires and cant ask for donations from users, because well there are hardly any, and i dont want to scare away the ones that are already using it. And it does have a major offer at the moment too sign up and you can get a free forum.

Either that or find your site through google, click to enter, then repeat about a thousand times until google rates your site as popular and displays it on the first page.

And you can always just get your friends to link to you.

What's the website? (I don't believe you'll get in trouble for posting it here, and the worst that came happen is that this thread will get locked, and you can go to the mod forum to have them unlock it and let you edit the web address out.)

I need to know to help you answer your question.

And if you don't feel comfortable posting the page here because you don't want to get in trouble with mods, just send it to me in a Telegram.

I'll help you some other time though, because I have to leave for work in 10 minutes.

The last update on the main page looks to be from 1 full month ago, therefore...

Is there compelling reason for visitors you've already had return to the site again and again?
No-ish.

And by the way, when it comes to that sort of website, you're already in heads up competition with lots of similar sites that were juggernauts in the online gaming world long before BF2, so this is most likely a lost cause--however...some of those juggernaut websites that I talk of (like for example, XtremeEagles (http://www.xtremeeagles.net), great group of guys) will link to you if you also link to them.
