(note - I did dumb things when I was young, but I was dumb and I DO NOT condone putting people at risk on public roads)
Whats the fasted you've ever personally had a vehicle? What was it, and where were you driving it?
Mine would be a 92' Eagle talon t.s.i. on Interstate highway 79 at 143 mph.
Fastest on a bike was 125mph on a Honda Shadow. It was on a little back road I lived on. Old Highway 99

93' Chevy Blazer: 105 mph on Rt 13 about 5 years ago.

Mitsubishi Pajero: 140 kph on some nameless Iraqi road. Surprished the Pajero lasted as long as it did.....the odometer was stopped at 300,000 km when we got it, no shocks left, and I had to slam shift it when driving. Oh yeah, the wheel fell off when I was driving it.

295kph (185mph) on the A8 between Stuttgart and Ulm. Kept that speed for a good 5 minutes too.

Car was an opened up Mercedes C-Class Sportscoupe 320... w00t.

My own car? Downhill, good wind, 150mph (250kph) again on the A8. Kept that speed for about a minute. Hyundai Sonata 2004 - had to calculate from revs, the needle of the speedo disappeared. :gundge:

I may be wrong, but I REALLY don't think a Sonata is capable of 150. But I may be wrong.

It is downhill :P - I regularly do 140 with it without a problem. Manual trans btw - can make difference of up to 10mph ;)

120mph in my dads BMW on the M1 at some ungodly hour.

In my car, well I've only had it a few weeks and gone no-where to attempt to stretch its legs, went 90mph on the M54 but it was starting to struggle, and got stuck behind some cars....It is only a 10 year old Fiesta though

About 95mph in my old Fiat Panda 750. It was downhill, and it was screaming!

A bike? About 40mph. Again downhill (The A4, just south of Putney), but not bad considering I was pedalling.

hehehehee I had a Fiesta once looong ago. It went like snot. Could do 100+ mph but it sounded like it was going to explode and the wipers often flipped up because of the wind.

If I give Panthor a good kick up the arse he can usually get up to about 20 mph.
Mwah ha ha hah!
Of course, my Attack Trak can reach a good 45mph if i can reach the flatlands outside of Snake Mountain.
Yes, yes, mwah ha, yes.

95mph down The Mall (road in front of buckingham palace, UK, 30mph speed limit) on my motorbike.

I got pulled over by the police who were following me (it was dark and I thought it was some nutter tailgating me as all i could see were the vans headlights (they did not put their lights on) hence the speed. Furtunately they were in a good mood and felt they had better things to do than book me so gave me a SEVERE telling off and then let me go.

They don't shoot people for speeding. No profit in it.

Actully that bike got me into trouble another time when I was showing a friend around london (at 2am) when we wnt through parliament square I parked on the kerb and we went looking at the statues and suchlike around there.

As we walked back half a dozen police cars with sirens blaring came screaching into the square and soon I was surrounded by some very very pissed police (some armed). Again after a very very very severe shouting at, a FULL inspection of my bike for anything they could book me for and a criminal background check they let me off with a severe warning not to do it again. Fortunately this was a couple of years ago so the police were less tense then.

That's pretty impressive considering that road is not the straightest or flatest.

278MPH at 5.8 in the quarter. Alcohol fueler at Scribner, NE. Blown 426 hemi.
124 MPH at 11 flat in the quarter on my V-ROD.

180 plus on C-16 in a heavily modified Z-28. By a stopwatch 19.68 seconds mile marker to mile marker on average over 5 miles.

approx 90 MPH cross country on a 360 yamaha endro.

142 MPH (according to the radar and gun camera on a Apache) hauling a load of JP-8 down MSR Tampa west of Baghdad.

Yes, I'm a little bit of a speed freak.

It was in Arizona all the way across the state from the California to the New Mexico border and in my Honda Civic. I have no clue quite how fast I was going as the speedometer only goes to 130 and the needle was past that.
It's a gigantic state, and as I've probably said before past experiences with Arizona have given me the impression it's a very lawless state and you're more damned if you do follow the law there, so I just drove through it as fast as I damn well pleased.

On a bike (as in bicycle) the fastest I've gone was 60 mph down a big hill in my old home town of Oceanside, CA. If anywhere here lives in Oceanside, it's the one on Mission, leading into the valley. I tend to believe that was far stupider than my stunt in Arizona.

The fastest was about 137 on the Rte. 7 connector. I had a '98 Saab 900 turbo. God belss that car. It was great...until that one snowy day.

The fastest my current car has gone is 105 on I-95. It's a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
