Of well known songs I would have to say Creed's "My Sacrifice" or Metallica's "The Unforgiven". I am so sick of hearing about "Stairway to Heaven" and any Rolling Stone song.

But outside of the mainstream there are quite a few songs that just blow almost any well known song away: Kamelot's "Karma", "March of Mephisto", or "The Black Halo", Stratovarius' "Will My Soul Ever Rest in Peace" or "Soul of a Vegabond", and Tiamat's "Carry Your Cross and I'll Carry Mine"... each of these are heavy metal or mix of metal and goth.

A lot of Mudhoney stuff and a lot of Monster Magnet stuff...

Though the song that stands out to me most from modern times is Better Living through Chemistry by Queens of the Stone Age.

Of well known songs I would have to say Creed's "My Sacrifice"

That's not underrated. It's the song that made me stop listening to radio. If I hear that boring, watered down piece of...*regains composure*

Carry on.

"Fundamentally Loathsome" by Marilyn Manson.
Wicked awesome guitar solo.

Most stuff by A Perfect Circle.

Built to Spill's entire album Ancient Melodies of the Future. Waay better than Keep it Like a Secret.

Anyone with me on any of those?

Well, APC are good and deserve to be more popular, but they're overshadowed by their status as a side project for Maynard....and to a lesser extent, James Iha. That's probably why they don't get the credibility they deserve.

Kamelot's "The Black Halo" was a great album, though I don't care much for Stratovarius expect for their instrumentals. Check out Persuader and Demons and Wizards(Vocalist is the same one as Blind Guardian) if you like those types of bands.

Having met Jerry Only, I can tell you he most certainly not a "cocksucking faggot".

Even though the only good Misfits music was recorded with Glenn, Glenn himself is an asshole.
He still harbors a deep grudge towards his earlier work, and refuses to yalk about it.
In fact, during his solo career, any mention of his former band, would incite rage in him.
Or even worse, attempting to get Glenn to sign Misfits memorabilia, resulting in Glenn smashing it.

Jerry Only, needs to stop calling his band the Misfits, but other than that, hes a really nice, down to earth guy, who goes out of his way to talk to his fans.

I'm not taking sides here, I just thought it was funny encountering this on Wikipedia - normally such comments last only about a minute or two before being edited out.

The only ex-Misfit I have personally encountered is Bobby Steele, who on the surface was charming, but was deeply manipulative of people who he was around fo more than an hour or so.

EDIT: I'm sure we've all seen the now legendary North Side Kings vs. Glenn Danzig video, yes?

On February 28th, March 1st and March 2nd 2005, Glenn Danzig performed a half hour worth of classic Misfits tracks, in the middle of his Danzig set. Joining him on guitar was none other than Doyle. It was the first time the two have performed together in 20 years, and the first time Doyle has taken to the stage since he went on hiatus. These shows have prompted rumours of a reunification of Jerry, Doyle and Glenn, although Danzig has repeatedly made public statements shooting down such rumors. Glenn and Doyle plan on performing more shows together, and Glenn has stated that this is as close as anyone will ever get to seeing a true Misfits reunion.

Maybe he's realized the Misfits were better then Danzig?

We just need to get him and Jerry Only to talk...

And I stand by my assessment of Danzig's post-Misfits work. :p

I think he realizes what the fans react better to.

Also, this may have even been a stab at Jerry Only.

Doyle left the Misfits., it might have been a "haha..in your face Jerry!"

I would like to see it happen though...even if it was just one show.

Underrated songs? Try underrated bands. Screw the Foo Fighters, screw Metallica, screw all of the crap you hear on the radio. The people who really deserve our respect are the ones who never get any radio time, never appear on MTV, never get their hands on any substantial amount of money for their wonderful creations, yet they continue to play music because they love what they do. Those are the artists who deserve our respect.

Overrated song of all time has to be- Bohemian Rhapsody

Most underrated- ANything by Bill Chase, back in 72-74, before he was cut down in a plane crash on his way to a gig in LA. Awesome trumpet player, one of the best to ever grace the stage with a horn, and had some rockin music too.

Some song titles I'd recommend looking up are- Scream Machine, Open Up Wide, Celebrate, Get it On, and Bochawa. ALl fo his stuff is good though. YOu can find it on limewire, dountful anywhere else, i know ive tried.
