Just curious. Sorry if this thread has been done before.

Actually there is, interestingly enough. Poorer people tend to be more religiously fundamentalist (although this is far from being a rule) whilst wealthier people tend to trend more towards moderacy or atheism. Once again, this is not a rule, just a trend of sorts. I know plenty of fundamentalist rich folk and plenty of atheist poor folk, well, at least that's my observation.

Hmm, I'm not sure. There are the "religious right", and I have a good friend who is a very traditional Catholic and a good deal to the left. I suppose there might be a correlation between your personal specific religious beliefs and economic outlook, but not by a whole religion. Hard to say.

There used to be a link between economics and polotics but it is really strange now. In the past the poor were economically liberal and the rich economically conservative. The poor were also politically liberal and the rich politically conservative. Then in 1980 that all changed. We were told Reagan was a super conservative, BUT he spent more and went in debt more than all previous presidents combined. Bush1 and Bush2 broke his spending and borrowing records. Meaning Reagan, Bush1&2 are economic liberals to the max. Clinton who was described as a liberal began paying down the debt--a conservative move. The problem with political conservative is that it now hinges on two issues, abortion and Gays. Anyone who opposes the "conservatives" on these issues can be a super conservative on any other issue and be branded "Liberal". At the same time, a person who supports the "conservative" view on these issues can be totally liberal on every other issue including economics and be "conservative". Makes no sense to me!

i've made one kindof like this before, except allot more in depth(political compass results, continent, religion, and some other things i don't remember now.)

hmm, where do i get put, left wing or rightwing? i think that people should be assigned a job and producting monitored heavily, but i also think that there should be no welfare(don't let the weak get what they don't desearve), and people all have the same opportunity to get different amounts of payment harder, and the government gives them the amount of payment in correlation to how much and well they work regardless of identity.

it has both things or communist and right wing, i'm pretty shure that's very close to fascism.

I think there might be a relationship between religion and economics. For example, a number of atheists would agree with Marx and be socialist or communist, a la "opiate of the people". On the other hand, I think that the Protestant work ethic would encourage a more capitalistic system, like the strong economies of England and Germany during the Industrial Revolution showed. Yet, devout Catholics may be somewhat more politically leftist, at least in America, because of the Rerum Novarum and the fact that during the 18th-19th century Catholics were mostly working class immigrants.

I'm sorry if I've made any broad assertions, but this topic's question is one and I'm simply presenting my basic guidelines on how it might be.

hmm, i think i've figured it out, i don't want economic freedom( but i want economic equality of opporotunity(right wing)
