Another piece of Americana gone. He'll live on forever on Nick at Night.

I did like the show when I was a kid. Now, I don't watch it, but I probably wouldn't enjoy it much.

I am surprised very few people have voted and very few people have posted, I expected a bigger response.

And something that would get us away from politics all the time, and blaming each other and all government officials for the Hurricane problems.

That said, lets get back on subject and stay there, I guess you can comment on the low response.

You shall be missed Mr. Denver. (sniff)

that leaves Mary Anne and the Professor left...

I loved the episode where they all ate the irradiated food and each had a super power.

the "evil Twin" stories were also funny. they did one on Gilligan and Ginger, don't recall if they had any others.

R.I.P. Bob Denver. Condolences to his family and friends. He was my favourite character. All the other characters were just his foils for his antics.

Its been a long time since I watched it, but if I came across it on the idiot box, I'd defintely watch it. The only episode that really sticks out in my mind is the one where they encountered the Japanese soldier who had been holed up on the island for a couple decades. I'm sue it would be considered politcaly incorrect nowadays, but it was a hilarious episode.

La Haban Cuba: You're obviously a big fan. What are your favourite moments from the show?

LOL. Well, in my experience, most people who get worked up over the kind of perceived political incorrectness in episodes like the one we're talking about don't possess a decent sense of humour to begin with.

"U.S.A. American" What the heck?

Is that like a "Republica de Cuba Cuban?" How about "U.A.E. Emiratis?"

Even the British called us "Americans" before the American Revolution. Please follow the convention of the rest of the world. Yes, Cuba, Brazil, et al are on the South American continent. No one cares. We already KNOW where Brazil or Cuba is. You're not doing any value-add by saying you're in the Americas.

RIP indeed.

My favorite episodes were "So Sorry, My Island Now" (#15) - the Japanese soldier, and The Producer (#72) in which Harold Hecuba the Hollywood director produces a musical version of Hamlet.

But my favorite moment was when the Skipper found Gilligan flying. I can't remember which episode it was, but the Skipper pointed out he couldn't fly and he ended up falling to the ground.

Hmm. I've never thought of it before, but... I wonder if THAT'S where Douglas Adams stole the flying from? Hmm...

What does it matter if you're American or not? I ask, looking at the poll overhead...

It's a... sit-com, man... it doesn't matter whether you're an American...

Because it is an american show, but you do have a point.

Since we are mostly from America or Europe, I feel that we should take that into account on future polls and provide a space for each other and othersdepending on the issue, keeping in mind that we have up to 10 options
depending on our questions' answers.

In this case I can agree with you.

How about "Not American, never seen the show"

No, really, it may have been shown here originally, but that would be before I was born. (And I'm ancient)

Dunno about favorite episode... I was usually loaded.

That's actually my favorite question to determine weirdness.

Bob: "I'm weirder!"
Steve: "No, I am!"
Me: "Okay... Mary Ann or Ginger?"

It doesn't matter what they answer. You're only weird if you say "Mrs. Howell". :D
