Hey guys! I proudly announce that Disneyland Hong Kong will open on the 12th September 2005 - NEXT MONDAY!

I went for a rehearsal today. It's small, but what it lacks in size gains in the ability to tour the entire fairground in one day, no more, no less.

Doesn't if make you just want to jump to Hong Kong right now? :D

I'm suprised that the Chinese are going to let some of the worst, most exploitive and downright evil capitalitsts in the world - Disney corp - open a themepark on Chinese soil.

Don't they know that if Walt Disney was alive, he'd advocate bombing them? I mean this was a guy who not only accepted but supported McCarthy and the anti-communist bullshit.

Fuck Disney. Can't the Chinese come up with a good themepark by themselves? I mean they make everything in China anyway... can't they build rollercoaster or 10?

Disney's cool! I love Mickey Mouse. MICKEY MOUSE!

Lol.

All-in-all, it's a good holiday location at our own backyard.

Well the park is fun, but I still hate Disney. And so should the Chinese.

Come on... can't you guys open up a Mao-World or something? Ohhhhh I got it! Call your themeparks (are you ready?) - MarxParx!

Have fun in a warm and Communist-friendly environment!

BTW if the Chinese gov is looking for a Minister of Themeparks.... I do have some openings on my schedule. ;)

<all jokes about China and Communists are just that. I love China, and Communists.>

Wow. I haven't met somebody who thinks China 2005 is still China 1965. Pleased to meet you.

Your post gave me the impression you only know the China from 1965.

Man, I hate disney.
I with you here. These days Disney is a bunch of copyright obsessed b****, and their movies and cartoons suck. I find Disneyland Paris a bad idea (Disney in Paris?   .), and no matter where it happens, another Disneyland opening will make the world a worse place. F*** Disney :upyours: .

I'm not being entirely serious here - I thought "MarxParx" kinda gave that away...(though it's an awesome name... If I ever start a line of Socialist themeparks I have a name!)

I've been to China in the late 90's, and I follow current events. I know China today is different from China 1965. :)

China is anything but communist... And isnt Hong Kong not even under the direct rule of Beijing? If memory serves me correctly I do believe Hong Kong is some sort of special "autononomous economic zone."

Yes. At least we have a better term for sarcasm than "sarcasm". :D

How do you say sarcasm in Chinese? That would honestly be cool to know.

...No, I'm not being sarcastic. :p

諷刺 (feng3 ci4). 諷 means "to scorn" and 刺 is "to poke".

Well, it sure doesn't feel nice to be "諷刺"ed. "Sarcas-" doesn't mean anything.

We should start a club. I'm sure that plenty of people hate the saccarine, simplistic shit shoveled by Disney into the minds of young people.
