Moderator Appreciation Day

You know what we need? We (I mean NationStates) needs an Moderator Appreciation Day. I mean, after looking at the explosion of threads in Moderation, as well as the work that the Mods (and those who make the game) run put in, on their own time, I think we need to decide on a day and have a decleration for Moderator Appreciation Day.

We could all state that for that 24 hour time period, that we promise to be nice to everyone (maybe we could agree only to make threads about bunnies?) and not cause threads to start up in Moderation. Maybe we could get willing gals (and guys for our female mods) to give personal fluffles to the Mods that day.

Or, we could start a thread like this to say thanks for working so hard, usually without thanks and with a lot of screaming.

So, what do you think, and when should we do it?

If only it'd work. Me, if I ever see one of them in person, I'd offer to buy them a drink, lol.

Apreciate them or not, I find it hard to believe that they are not paid for the job they do, they should be paid for the job they do.

Aren't they compensated by not having to pay to play NS2?

Appreciation is best shown by behaving and not causing them undue work. Sucking up is so transparent.

True, but if I'm doing a good job at something, I like to hear once in a while that I am. I'm fairly sure it applies to them, too.

Moderation forum thanks for services performed would seem to go a long way. These sorts of thread just seem, to me at least, as so brown-nosey.

I disagree.

1. There's a lot of work that the Mods do that we don't see, so they are never thanked for it.

2. Words of thanks are always welcomed (or at least I felt the same when when I was in a simular situation).

3. The Mods have had a pretty full plate as of late (looking at Moderation) so a chance to say thanks seems appropriate.

4. And I don't think it's brown nosing. For one thing, brown nosing needs a purpose and the Mods have proven again and again that they don't play favorites so it would be pointless.

That is another reason or the reason I say they should be paid for the job they do.
