elk hunt somthing like that in your country?
In north of sweden elk hunt a big event.
hunt and fishing are important for leisure time and olso for got meat for own use.

In terms of a big organized thing, nope. However, church was rather sparsely populated this weekend. Part of this can be attributed to Labor Day weekend, but I also suspect that much of it has to do with moose season opening this weekend.
After seeing the size of the Roosevelt elk that hang out in my state and near by, I had to ask if you actually shoot them or drop large bombs on them in the hopes of knocking one out.
Love how they taste though.
In Canada we have tax season instead of elk season. It lasts 8 months.

Been in a car hitting an elk TWICE now (not the same elk, mind you), so I'm all for elk hunting. They are terrists and should be eliminated. The population must be controlled, or they are taking over the highways.
...or maybe I'm just a moose-magnet...

No. I despise the monarchy, and the king is an idiot.
I know of a group in Rhode Island who call themselves "Squirel Watchers". They tie a peanut onto a string and see how far they can lure squirels. They even bet on it from what I've heard.

And yes, there´s something quite like that here :p. My grandfather actually worked as a guide for the king once, something people of my family will say every chance they get (or almost... At least sometimes... Ok, hardly ever).

It's the same where I live in the US. Ice fishing is popular in the winter.
