Try using the Mozilla Firefox browser. To find it just Google the name.

IE

Are they coming up repeatedly and very quickly and are displaying "page cannot be read error", and can't be closed unless you can end the IE browser?

If so, I'm having the same problem with SBC Yahoo DSL, but it happens randomly.

A glitch in the matrix, I think.

How are you sure its spyware? Jsut try anyway. Usually spyware downloads stuff on your comp, so it launches off your hard drive, which is why you might be getting the same one.

Downloas AD-Aware SE here (http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html?part=69274&subj=dlpage&tag=button) it is free version.

Download SpywareBlaster here (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) this is free also.

download Hijack This here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html) free of course.

and get yourself a good antivirus program. I use AntiVir PersonalEdition classic. You can find it here (http://www.free-av.com/antivirus/allinonen.html) and can you guess? It's free.

Make sure after installing any of these to update them immediately.

popups are not caused by a virus. they are caused by malware (spyware).

FireFox sucks ass. Use Maxthon (http://www.maxthon.com/). It is way better.

I have been using Maxthon for over a year and it has never given me any problems, it blocks normal popups and Ads, and I have never have gotten a virus or spyware while using it.

AD-aware finds and gets rid of spyware.
SpywareBlaster doesn't let spyware get on your comp.
HijackThis is more advanced. You don't have to have this one.
And for gods sake man, you have to have an antivirus app.

2b. If you must continue looking at porn sites, then do so with your eyes closed. This way you won't be able to see the pop-ups.

remember that woman on Graham Norton

"I was listening to music with my eyes closed going away at it when my mother touches my shoulder and says honey could you stop your father needs to go to bed" (obviously her room was on the way)

As said, get:

Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware SE
Spyware Blaster
HijackThis

and try CWSshredder in case the other programs don't catch something by CoolWebSearch. CWSshredder is made by the same people who made HijackThis.

Also, if you have McAffee, I suggest running a virus scan. It can catch programs that cause random popups too (it solvedthat problem for me).

And last, get Firefox (+Adblock extension with the Filterset.G filter) or some other browser like Opera (though the free version comes with ads, so...).

FireFox is not a bad browser. Does not use the IE engine. I just do not like it. I found Maxthon so much easier to tweak, has hundreds of plugins (more than FireFox) and I don't like FireFox.
And you can't beat Maxthons forums.

but that's for spyware?
Right.

How Popups work (last time I checked):
Most popups work by downloading a small file to your to your temporary internet folder. Spyware files downloaded in this manner check what you do on the internet. Eventually, most of these small files will either cause popups, or download another file that in turn causes pop ups. These pop ups are usually designed towards your tastes. Most people will dismiss these, but some with weak minds succumb to the temptation of the pop ups. Hence, people keep manufacturing spyware.

Pop ups that come up when you visit a page (and only then) work the same way except to a much less malicious extent.

What you have is indeed spyware and needs removed. i recommend MS Antispyware (The Microsoft website will need to know that you are running windows though) and Spybot: Search and Destroy.

You don't really need all four programs. Just get Microsoft Anti-Spyware from microsoft.com. It uses 20 security checkpoints, including a few in the WinSock layer, to stop spyware from getting in. It also uses a community network, so the minute a new spyware program is detected, it will be added to the list.
