Just an idea...
Well this is just an idea that popped into my head recently, but why doesn't NS get together and donate one giant donation in the name of NationStates?
I don't know, maybe we can just send the money to Max Barry and he can donate it.
cos we're poor.i am anyway, not having an income does that to a person

I myself can't donate anything either on the internet, I don't have a credit card or anything.
Its a great idea. But how will we organise it? I don't have much money spare but I'll donate.

Hahaha! :p
I think you will find that is a common problem here. ;) I bet most of the players are too young to have credit cards.
Donate to what cause?
I think The Red Cross seems to be the ideal choice.

Well, given the fact that apparently players of NS2 will pay to play, I think we can certainly get a half-way decent amount to donate on whole.

Why?
Why?
Given that entire nations are donating to the organization....

Lemme clarify for Colodia.
He wants someone to set up an account (PayPal would likely be best), for those willing and able to donate money which would be sent to the Red Cross, on behalf of Nationstates, in order to fund relief efforts in New Orleans.
I already gave money to the Red Cross, but I would be happy to give a little more in the name of NS...if we can get such an idea organized.
Great idea Colodia! :)

Yes, except it should be an account of someone people by majority trust. Like a mod or an administrator.
And someone who can definately be found if he/she decides to take the money for private reasons.

Count me out, then. I'm loathe to donate money to countries that can afford their own relief effort, be it France, Switzerland, Japan, the US or whatever. There are causes out there that really do need the money.

I'd do it, but I have no money.
Good idea Colodia.

Good point. However, the money could go towards a big televised advert telling Bush to get off his fat white Christian arse and do something.

I would refuse even more to spend money on anything Bush related.

While I do understand that sentiment, the problem lies in the fact that it has not been the federal government doing a large portion of the relief effort, from what I understand. Thus, the Red Cross has carried the flag and lead the way the entire time, setting a standard for relief in this situation, and many others.
Right now, it's looking as if anything is to be accomplished, it'll be the civilian instutions, volunteers, and resources that get the job done.

We always discuss politics so why don't we give it to a politics charity say freedom of speech or, no wait this thread might just start a small war if we send it a politicla charity. RSPCA?
So....no major support then eh?
