400$ a day is pretty darn good.NEEDED: Certified law Enforcement Officers for Contract Deployment to Louisiana

Critical Intervention Services, a Clearwater-based security and consulting firm, is actively recruiting certified law enforcement officers for a special deployment in Louisiana in support of Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Officers deployed on this assignment will be protecting staging areas for power restoration teams and utility trucks in the field.

Officers will be billeted in a controlled environment and provided with all operational necessities. Officers are expected to possess current LE certification, personal sidearm, and personal gear. Transportation to the operational area will be provided by CIS.

Well, I hope people who refer to guns as "looter-shooters" would somehow be sieved out before they got to a position of enforcing the law.

It's more of a restoring Law and order type job now, riding around on APCs like the NOPD Swat team is, rifles at the ready.

This is the bit that worries me... only a revolver to deal with these people? Would it not be slightly better to issue the men with rifles, they are a good deal more frigtening than a hand gun. I speak from experiance here.

I don't know if I would do that job for 400 a day. I'm sure it's not as bad as it's been made out to be, but it still looks well scary.

It doesn't say revolver or Pistol, but you could probably get away with either. I'll even bet they'll provide you with a rifle or let you bring your own.
