Why the amount of new recruits are always too low.

We don't have enough recruits because our uniform isn't awesome enough. If we had a spiffier more awesome uniform, we'd have more recruits.

Which one is cooler?
Obviously the second one.
All we have to do, is to copy Germany's Uniform in WWII (Which I may add, was AWESOME.)
We'll replace the Swastika with the U.S.A. Flag, and then we're set.
It would make it so that the Army would reach it's recruitment goal for once, while looking awesome at the same time.
Whadya think?

I am not sure that the uniform is the main reason. I can see that a good uniform could possibly help improve morale but I think that the problem is that the armed forces do not make themselves look like the best deal. We should increase funding to create better weapons, to provide more encouragement for young people to join, to provide more economic incentive to join the military and to instill more militaristic virtues into our youth such as orderliness, discipline and the like.
We most certainly can not salvage the Nazi uniforms simply due to the idea that people would then associate us with that group and this would hurt us immensely.

If they do that for too long, they won't be "associating" for too long, if you get my meaning.

The current uniforms are a fashion disgrace. The army looks wimpy with those berets, though they certainly are better than the trifold hats. The marines look like circus clowns. The navy just doesn't look like the fighting type, and the AF, well, they're okay.
We can bitch about what the service uniforms look like, but I have an idea for dress uniforms. The army should have black business suits for both men and women, as well as provide ties. The shirts should be baby blue for daytime, opulent white for night (except for female soldiers, who should where power suits during the day, and some form of dress/uniform combo at night). Ditto for the navy, though I'd have the outfits be either white or, well, navy. The marines can keep there's, but they should make the caps less poofier. I'm reminded of the Pillsbury doughboy.
Oh, and while the Werhmacht was trash if you ask me, I have at least one praise for them: they used leather liberally. Let's have sleek leather dress uniforms for our special forces.
I have to admit, the German uniforms were absolutely beautiful. Their leaders looked powerful in them, and they had a very civilized overtone.
I dunno about you guys, but I love my BDU's. Other than a couple of my items being small, Its very comfortable, and I look good in them.
Of course, I would take a Fallschirmjaeger uniform(that the right spelling? Its been ages since I spelt it last).

Exactly.

That’s the thing, though. I’m uncomfortable with the military being like that. We should embrace our proud American military tradition of looking like (and often actually being) a ragtag militia while still kicking ass. :D

Serious voice: dress military uniform v combat gear, effectiveness, safety, camo, blah, blah. germans didn't wear that into the argonne. (actually, they wore like white, I think) blah, blah.
Ahhh. I scratched my head for the longest time, wondering what "recruits" you were talking about. NS recruits? What? Not enough people are coming to NS? ... woah, there are NS uniforms? Wha-- OH.

You better mean the Ardennes.
And yeah, well, we're Americans.
We don't need camoflauge.
Americans>>>Bullets.

Nah. I think this one is much better than the other two:

I think the Marines' MARPAT is superior to anything else out there. Once the army's new uniform fades a little it will blend in pretty well in iraq.
However, a Suit from Starship Troopers would beat any of them, with or without camo.

I think there are three uniforms, actually. There's one for combat, one for formal occaisons, and one for everything else. At least that's what the marines do.

Totally agree. As long as you're talking about the kick-ass novel and not the movie, of course.

Uh... I usually suck at getting drifts but I sense that your message may not be the best. Anyway, we do not really want to be associated with Nazi Germany because of the fact that we have thoroughly denounced them and their policies. The uniform does not make the army, the tech and tactics do.

Cool Uniforms increase Morale, and Recruitment. (The Army falls shorter of it's recruitment goal every month.)
