The Force Majeure II
02-09-2005, 21:27
I left NS a year ago after tiring of the:

Self-loathing Americans
All-knowing, self-righteous Canadians
Southern gun-nuts
Religious zealots
Pretentious atheists
14-year-old economic savants
People from Boston

But I decided to give it another shot and see that much is unchanged. So here's an uncontroversial thread:

Post where you live, using Google maps.

Well, don't do it exactly - as these posts show, there are some nuts out there

here goes:

My commute is about 25 miles, I think (I've never measured it).

Capital letters always catch my eye first. The town is just as pretty as some in Tennessee, though. I like the little ponds to the north of town. Are they stocked? The golf courses look pretty inviting, too. Do you play?

I guess it's quite nice. I would imagine that much of Swedish scenery is very similar to parts of Canada..... lots of trees!! ;)

I live just outside the town (Uppsala) in a village, really more of a suburb than a village these days.

I just found my workplace in Stockholm also...

If you see where the Royal Castle (the large building on the top right of the island on the bottom half of the picture), and follow the bridge that goes north of it (over a small island where the Swedish parliament is), you can see a little building-less space. This is Gustav Adolfs torg (Gustav Adolf's Square)... I work just off this...
