Sick and tired of New Orleans/Katrina threads?

Do you, like I, find that there are too many threads on this already, and that people should just stop creating new ones, and use the ones already created?

There already are threads on how you can help, and what is going on, and looting, and the politics, and what have you. Please, oh, please, use them instead of creating new ones! :headbang:

I'm kinda tired of them. Luckily we have two threads about George A Romero, a thread about drugs, and a thread about an American Gulag in Arizona to keep me busy.

I also made a "California Senate Legalizes Gay Marriage" topic(paraphrased) I bet that'll get some attention.

No-think of all the people that are learning good ways they can actually help and contibute the ones that really need help.
You could be halfway around the world and still help.If you wanted to.

Oooh, I hadn't seen that one in the "torrents of NOLA." I'll be checking it out soon.

I'm cool with them. It exposes the dynamic tension of society that many wish to keep hidden, both on the left and the right.

Definitely too many. A lot of the new threads could have been placed within the existing ones.

Not that I care. I never really liked him, anyhow. Too arrogant.

I think I'm an indecisive person. I'm just not sure. How long do I have to think about it? ;)

Well, would you rather have endless Katrina threads or endless religioin threads?

There are always the gay marriage, gun control and transgendered recognition threads.

Let's see. I've seen so many threads on why Bush is evil. Followed by dumb-Bush threads. Then a few on how Katrina was Bush's fault. Then many others on Katrina. Some people need to get a life outside of Katrina and/or Bush.

Yes actually. Between Mesactala's(well and most of the right wingers here) attacks on Chavez, to Lotus Puppy's sheer and utter lack of sanity and his raging ethnocentrism, I'm quite tired.

... Abortion debate anyone? :p

Of course, you do understand that this righteous venting of your wrath has just spawned a new thread affilated with Kathrina, right?

Definatly too much. A lot of them are even about the same thing as a different New Orleans/Katrina thread, and I'm starting to get bored on this forum because a lot of the "latest threads" have something to do with Katrina.

I'm not weary of the topic since I have family in the affected area (managed to find my sister recently) so it's of personal interest to me.

The problem is not too much discussion, but the fact that it's so disorganized. People are starting threads on topics that already exist - I believe there's several threads regarding looting/looters. Lots of discussion about looters in threads where it's not necessary nor on topic.

A little posting dicipline would be helpful. Don't start new threads while the topic is under discussion in others, stay on topic when posting.

There are many interesting aspects of Katrina, so I hope we can keep up a debate as new information develops.

Yes. I'd also like some more economic threads, especially with the unemployment rate under 5%; of course, that will invariably lead to discussion about the hurricane's effect on such, so I'll wait until the cycle is over.
