Firstly, it is a democracy. So those of you who reccomend a return to imperialism should be ashamed. I remind you of how stable America was a hundred years after independence and rankly think many African nations are doing quite well considering the significantly more limited reasources they have to work with.

What's that you say? They are oppressing whites? Get over it. Anyone remember slavery? People in glass houses...

Give the African nations 50 years and they will find a solution to their problems.

The biggest thing to remember is democracy is an inalienable right and noone, noone has the right to take that away from any human being.

I'm guessing when the New World Order is gone fifty years from now the Africans will just become the pet project of whoever the next superpower is. Really, throughout history nations from the Europeans to the USSR to the US have loved to meddle in African affairs and do their part to screw up that continent. It's become some sort of global rite of passage.

See, this is why a republic is superior to a democracy. It is important to note that the US is a republic. We have rights that no slim majority can take away legally. The Founders made sure people knew that they weren’t creating a democracy..

No, more like Africa has a right to democracy and it will cool down. It's natural for a people oppressed for hundreds of years to want to even out the balance once in power.

And the Weimar Republic was a Democracy? :p

Weimar was not a democracy, but after Hitler was elected to the Chancellorship, he held a plebicite to confirm his rule over Germany.

As far as I can remember, Goebbels claimed that the simple majority they got was "overwhelming support" by the German population and there was no plebescite.

The problem with Africa was that it lacked the basic governmental infastructure to turn into decent countries after colonialism. If you look at America, we already had a functioning governmental system before we had the revolution. All we lacked was the Constitution to unite the colonies. The African colonies (and most of South America) never got that from their colonial powers. The exception was South Africa. While it struggled with Aparthied for years, it's doing a decent job.

So you approve of mob rule and revenge?

This thread is in response to the "Zimbabwie" thread in which a Caucasian family residing there for over 100 years was paid 1/3 the value of thier land and kicked off for the exclusive reason that they were white.

This is appropriate justice in some peoples eyes.

There were a number of plebicites, although the most important was after the German President died. Hitler held a plebicite to aloow him to merge his position to the president's position, giving himself nearly absolute power in the country.
