I think England. Yet Ireland has done better and maybe Isreal.

I can only assume it's France, considering they went 0-4 in Japan/Korea.

I think England.
After that performance against Denmark?
I've pretty much given up England winning anything football wise in the near future - cricket is the way forward

No, absolutely not! I think that England has actually dropped in quality since the 2002 World Cup. Most of its key players have been slacking actually, as I've seen in those playing within the Spanish League, which is what I watch [It would make sense, since I'm Spanish].
I was going to say Spain, but that would be lying. Spain will need a miracle to survive the quarter final rounds of Germany 2006, but they'll get to at least that point.
Personally, I voted for the United States. I think they did very well in 2002 by making it to quarter finals. I think their game against Germany was a robbery, or at least a cheap win, since the USA technically did score a goal against Khan, and a German defender touched it out with his hand - and it wasn't counted. I think that was bullshit. Regardless, the USA team has really improved since 2002, and they have a chance to show what the USA can really offer in terms of futbol.
England isn't a country.
BAM the American just told you! :D

I say Ireland! Following them so close they have been wining more games and playing with more skill and want! Compared to 2002 Ireland is way better! WAY!!

The American is about to get shot down!...by another American!
England isn't a country, but it's a soccer team. Scotland and England play as different teams during the world champions. Unfortunately, the Scottish never make it to the finals, which is what the fifa World Cup is on TV.

I concur. It would be hard for France not to be the most improved.

Bar the disasterous match vs Denmark, England have improved a lot, we have a lot of young players that are very promising (Wright-Phillips, AJ, Joe Cole(not that old but has found his best form)).
It was mainly David James who was to blame for the Denmark game, I have never rated his as a quality keeper, hopefully Robinson will be our keeper for the World Cup.
Oh and so far we're un-defeated i nthe qualifying stages, and should go top of the group with a win at the weekend

It has to be France because they did SO badly in the last world cup, and there is no doubt that they will do better this time.

Mexico!
Definetely Greece. They weren't even on the World Cup, and now they're European Champions. That's a pretty good improvement if you ask me.
Sweden (only one I know closely of but still). All the players have improved, more of the 'big' players are joining up... They say it´s possible this will be another '58.

Ya thats why I put Greece
England is not a country.
Um... What?
That has to be one of the most insane things I've seen here. Take it it from an Englishman, England is very much a country. And because this is General, I've even provided a source...
England is the largest and most populous country of the United Kingdom, occupying most of the southern two-thirds of the island of Great Britain.

Oh, and I'd say France or *fanfare* England.
Ireland! I agree with Rockaway
