Never, technically. Just scrape off chunks of grime every so often when they get bothersome/overgrown.

But to smell nice, once a day about does it for most people. Depends on activity levels and diet though.

More than once a month. There was a guy at a boarding school I went to who almost never showered and it was god awful. He took a shower after like two months and the water was a reddish brown.

Eew...

Once every two days.

Maybe twice a week if you're busy, but after that...well...it's just unpleasant.

I am a more than usual stinky guy (I really really hate it, very embarresing). So I am open to shower once or twice a day. Showers are also VERY comfortable and relaxing, so often you'll find me taking a second (or third) shower just to relax and be soothed.

For regular people I would say one shower, morning or evening, is enough to stay ok.

It depends. Every other day is sufficient for me, but during the school year when it's more convenient I like to shower every day, and occasionally it'll be the third day before I restart the cycle if my yoga schedule gets off kilter. Some people have virtually no BO though, I have a friend who I'd never have guessed only showers once or twice a week if he hadn't told me. And some people really do need it every day.

Well, I shower every workday, then tend to go without during the weekend...unless I do something active or outdoors that makes me sweat a lot.

If they were to make a law, I'd say every other day. Save some water.

I tend to shower once a month, and every week I turn over my underware and put them back on. No, just kidding, I shower everyday, and I'm on the recieving end of my mom yelling at me, because of all the water I use. Meh, I like to smell clean.

actually, I heard on the news a study that shower every day can actually "lower your IQ." The study showed that showering everyday in US plumbing conditions gives you a high dose of mangenese (i am probably misspelling) which is a neuro-toxin. So, showering everyday actually makes you more stupid.

As if anyone that filthy would actually clean up after themselves. He probably saw the evidence in the shower, after the dude used it but didn't clean up after himself.

Damn dirty hippes.

I aim for once every 2 days, but I'll go up to 4 days without a shower and no one is the wiser unless I tell them. I'm just lucky that way. I don't stink as much as most people, even though I do sweat more than most. I know, you must all think I'm filthy but :p I don't care.

No actually it's the soap. New studies show that if you wash until your skin "tingles", that you are actually damaging your skin by overwashing. I find the report somewhat suspect, but it IS the current belief.

Well I suppose it depends on what a person does every day. Personally I have a shower every 2 days(every day makes my hair greasy) but wash every day.

Every morning (or often, afternoon) I get up and jump straight in the shower, before getting dressed and putting my contacts in. It's the same for me every day. I also shower after playing sport or in the evening if I've just got back from work and I'm going on the turps in town. So I shower maybe... 10-12 times a week or so, depending on how active I am.

I take a bath once every 2 days. I actually have a skin condition known as Allergic/Irritant Contact Dermatitis. My skin finds water, among other things, much more irritating than normal skin. I have to watch what kind of soap and products I use as well because my skin doesn't adapt to anything it find irritating; the irritation just keeps compounding on itself. Because of this, I have severly dry, ultra-sensitive skin. It is a never ending battle to keep my skin moisturised enough and water just leeches more moisture out of my skin.

Every workday, but if I'm lazy and not up to anything at the weekend I might not bother (If a person doesn't shower, but there's nobody there to smell them... Do they still stink?).
However, sometimes it gets hot and manky, and I need more than one a day.

Depends. If it's someone I'm going down on, they need to shower daily. Otherwise, they need to shower as often as they need to to not stink.

Depends, if they're at the point where they're putting so much Axe body spray on that they would spontaneously combust if the temperature got above 100* F than they obviously need to be cleaned off with a fire hose. A simple shower is no longer sufficient.

I don't like showering, but you kind of have to. If we start counting from the moment you exit the shower, one day is fine, two days is fine, third is not good, and then you'll have to shower or you're a dirty hippie. If the weather's tropical (over 25 C) it's once a day.

In the army, there was one camp with a shower once a week. It's not as bad as you'd think, especially when camping. But, you notice that different clothing materials have interesting differences in properties. One's unusable within three days, the other goes on without problems the entire week.

Hey, if everyone stank then we would all get used to it right? We could conserve water if everyone backed off on this "shower everyday" thing. Every other day is just fine.

Occassionally I will forgo one of the showers but I still shower that day.

Twice a day, surely. Once in the morning to help wake up and freshen oneself for the day (being polite here, colleagues don't want to smell 10 hours of accumulated sweat and sleep on you) and again at the end to wash the grime off you and help relax for bed.
Sometimes I shower thrice a day - after the gym as well, then again just before beddy-byes.

Water is our friend.

I flatted with a guy who'd only shower once a fortnight, and would wear the same clothes (including underwear) for the whole time as well. In addition, he wouldn't use toilet paper when taking a dump (I knew this 'cause he wouldn't flush). He was pretty gamey, to say the least. He'd only wash his clothes every 2 months as well, so he'd have 4 changes of filthy stinking clothes lying on the floor of his bedroom for weeks.
He was trying to make a living as a clown. He never washed his clown outfit. You have no idea how bad that smelled. You would gag from 15 feet away. Suffice to say, he didn't get many jobs, and definitely didn't get any call-backs.
He got a yeast infection (which I didn't think was possible for men, but you live and learn), which really stunk. Finally went to the doctor and was told to wash more often. So he started showering every 10 days instead of 14. The filth in the bathtub was incredible. He wouldn't clean it himself, so I'd have to.

In the end, the rest of us got so fed up, we told him the house had been sold and we had 2 weeks to leave. He left and we didn't. Took more than a month of solid cleaning, airing and incense before we could go into his bedroom without gagging.

I once got a fungus from showering twice a day with soap. The doctor told me I was washing away all my natural body oils that prevented the fungus. He told me to shower only once a day with soap and if I needed another shower the same day to do it without soap. That worked.

Showering once a day or every other day is fine for most people... but i'm obsessive compulsive, so a couple or more times a day for me. Yes, my parents do yell at me alot for using so much water. I account for about 35% of the water bill.
