Since begining work @ place with lots of ex-military types (from 6 different nations, last count) and that has dealings with the US DoD through our manufacture lkarge (er...enormous) shells for the NAvy & Airforce....and thus dealing with a lot of military types, I must say my respect for the military has gone up. They sure know how to work.

Join the Navy. Then you don't have to put up with a sucky football team. Plus, it's one more person for me to look for once I join. I'll be the short pilot who makes Gundam and Robotech references about his fighter and paints a big RDF sign on the side :cool: and has a female wingman. For some reason, after playing AC5, I really trust female aviators now. I swear, it's platonic! :D hey, is it wrong to call a girl a 'wingman?'

If your going to call yourself a Patriot, at the least try to learn the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Federalist Papers, and a decent amount of American Revolutionary history.

That stuff makes real patriots more than the army.

A patriot for Americans is a rather whole different ball game than for citizens who take their orders from royalty. For here, just joining the armed services tends to make you a nationalistic person, and a nationalistic person is a dime a dozen.

An American however has an added responsiblitity to WHAT the republic was founded for. Thus, if you are just going to take orders and shoot people, well your a genuine soldier. Not very different from a Canadian, Australian, or an Iraqi soldier fighting Americans or for.

However, because this person was Australian, I was wrong. Patriotism means something different for different regions and I'm not going to claim what it is for your countries. For this I apologize. The whole Iraq issue tends to take one's focus on the main country being active in military affairs. For that, you have my sincere apologies.

No, MY special forces, the danish special forces, are truly so kick-ass that they leave both the brits and 'merikans behind. We don't have many of them, though, being a tiny, tiny country :p
