What happens when you mix medium priced bourbon with cheap vodka?

This is for being so good at starting a thread. (http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b118/epsonee/positive14.jpg)
Anyways, you get a killer hangover.

You vomit?

Depends on if you drink it, or you're just mixing it to give to someone else to drink, or you intend to stuff a rag down the top of the bottle and lit it on fire...

A little of A, a little of B, a LOT of C.

How violent would this other's person reaction be to such a concotion?

Mine would be violent illness, but I'm used to high caliber drinks. Long Island Iced Tea is awesome.

That would depend on the person. I doubt you could expect projectile vomiting...but almost assuredly vomit and a hangover to kill because of...

Why do I think everybody is overexaggerating a person's reaction to such a drink... I'm almost tempted to try it just to prove you wrong... But I don't have any vodka on hand thats cheaper than Smirnoff (which isn't too cheap).
It really depends on the cheap vodka. Some isn't too bad and drinking it will be similar to drinking cheap bourbon. Some is deadly and mixed with anything will result in your waking up in a small room with bars on the windows and the inability stand unassisted. The thing to really watch for is cheap vodka and cheap red wine, that is a hangover you never want to repeat and the vague feeling that you may have molested an animal while drunk.

Indeed... But I know no one who mies vodka and whisky/whiskey/bourbon despite the fact that I'm from Russia. :)

We call it 'The Kiss', and one of our writers observed that you have to get into a habit of drinking such concoctions from childhood... The adults cannot get accustomed to it, so don't try! ;)

You puke up your shoes a few hours after imbibing.

Sounds as bad as cinnomin whiskie. They take some alcohol (bourbon, I think) that wasn't of a high enough qulity and add a near lethal amount of cinnomin flavoring. Its called fireball because it burns going in and coming out.

Around here that combination of spirits is called "Petrol".

Although it sounds pretty good going in... (who doesn't love cinnamon and who doesn't love bourbon?) I don't want a fireball comin' out... :(

Is it horribly cheap and easy to get a hold of too?
Looking at the bottle it says it has "28%-32% Alcohol Content per Volume". Thats reasuring.

No it burns going down. It is something you have to get used to. While it does taste like cinnamon it tastes like it is mixed with dirt. The cinnamon is strong enough to nearly completely cover the dirt taste, but cinnamon that strong taste bad. My Uncle says it feels like he has heartburn when it goes down.

Maybe I'm overly bold and unwise, but I aint too worried about the burn going down...

As a power drinker I can tell you that I have tried this mix, it's not tasty but it will get you trashed. For those with a low tolerance, I don't suggest it.

I tends to be worse than the burn coming out. That include puking it out, unless you puke within 10 minutes of drinking it.

i have no real authority in this area, but im just wondering if it may be dangerous standing over it while mixing :p

Yeah that's the part I'm more worried about... But the concept of cinamon whiskey sounds strangely alluring.

Vodka/Burbon combination
Nothing wrong with it. both Vodka and Burbon are fairly benign liquors.

Thats what I thought at first too. It's just this reaction from the General public... is a bit perplexing. Maybe I should add a poll as to who has actually tried it.

I make it a point to avoid any liquor with cinnamon flavor in it. I learned my lesson the hard way.

NOTHING BAD WOULD HAPPEN
all you would have is pretty crappy "bourbon".
any bad reaction would depend on the way it is drunk.
most people who mix stuff like that are very bad drinkers who drink recklessly and tend to vomit/pass out before its over.

Projectile vomiting and one of my worst hangovers from drinking cinnamon Aftershock all night long.
My absolute worst hangover ever, however, came from pounding shots of coffee and vanilla flavored Stoli until 3AM while visiting a friend in Long Island. I didn't know one could vomit pure corrosive, stinking, yellow bile the consistency of thick mucus until that morning. Haven't abused the Stoli since.

*raises hand*
It pretty much got me drunk very fast, burned in my throat for a while after each slug and helped me on my way to being paraletic (sp?) within 3 hours, puking within four. The hangover lasted about a day.
However, you'd probably be better asking someone who doesn't weigh 65kg with a BFP of about 12%. You'd also be better asking someone who ate something other than party food to go with it.
EDIT: In fact, take about 10kg off that weight. It was 3 years ago.

Huh... Well I guess I'm right for staying away from Vanilla, coffee, and other weirdly flavored liquers.

So this cocktail got you drunk faster than say the equivelent amount of cheap vodka?

Not massively. I think it was more to do with the two distinct flavours mingling and producing a more palettable taste (at least to me, anyway). The overall alcohol content doesn't increase, obviously. However, I felt that the whole "don't mix grain and vine" ideal also applies in terms of "don't mix the grain and potato brewings". It gave me a monstrous hangover, was all. The major vomiting and paraleticism was more due to the ease at which it was drunk, even with the kick.
For reference, I think this was all done with Jack Daniels and Tesco's own Vodka, although the specifics are blurry.

I too can't see the problem here. If combined the overall alcohol level doesn't go any higher than the higher of the 2.
I used to drink Bols vodka with southern comfort. It gives the whiskey an edge but doesn't get you wasted any quicker than drinking either on it's own and certainly doesn't make you either sick or hung over (unless you get silly with it).
Now I don't drink much except home made mead and wine.

Ahhh, but we're talking about cheap liquors.
If we were talking about mixing some high quality bourbon and vodkas, I doubt there'd be anything worse than perhaps the aftertaste...
Cheap vodka or cheap bourbon will make you wish you'd never been born the morning after...mix together...the damage is compounded...

Having tried a few variations of whiskey and vodka, it really depends on the vodka. Vodka, especially cheap vodka, may be a benign liquor or it may be deadly. Much like gin in that respect, if you've ever suffered from bad gin you know what I'm talking about.
::: As a note, most vodka is made from grain not potatos.

But the effects are not compounded if you mix spirits.
cheap vodka makes you feel like shit cos it's full of impurities same as cheap whiskey. The too together make you feel crappy but no more than the worst of them on it's own. Unless of course the mix is easier to drink then we're talking greater volume.
It's mixing spirits with wine or similar that takes people by suprise.
