Whenever I go in there, there's nothing but sanctimonius elitists with nothing better to do than criticize anything their small circle of immediate friends isn't involved in

#nationstates_general is where it's at. Though I haven't been on there in several months.

It's the same. It was great in the first few months, then it filled up with the #nationstates ban list. You can imagine what that's like, when you've got people who got banned from there.

Personally I idle in #nationstates_technical, that's where all the old guys from the heyday of the Technical Forum hang out. Not much chat there though. All the cool stuff happens in the ADN channel, but you have to be in the ADN for that.

Technically, I am, being a Nasicournia native...I have an account on the ADN forums, I've just never been active. :p

I usually only go onto the IRC chans when the forum goes down for a length of time. Maybe I'll go on now.

Eh, we don't allow for much "I hate #nationstates, I was banned from there" bitching on #nationstates_general -- but if ya wanna drop by and join the convo, you're welcome.

I find a lot of it goes over the heads of new chaps like me. But occasionally interesting discussions come up. And they've always been helpful when I've had a concern. So, I disagree. I just wish channels like #unitednations were more active.

aah you've got a point. nationstates doesn't have much to offer when everyone you know is on holidays and the only telegrams you get are from the UN begging you to put your views forward for a poll that you entered a week ago. yup, boring.

I'm an old school NSer, back when we were only on NS WWIII. (I think we're on NSWW LVI now :D). However I left for about a year and my clique that I hung out to RP with disbanded. Exiled and abandoned the general forum took in this NS veteren with open arms.

The fact that whenever I go in the channel, the same people have sarcastic and useless comments to make about whatever I'm talking about no matter what it is or how much they think they know about it?

Not naming names cause that would be trolling instead of just complaining. =p

edit: Since at least two people didn't get it, I will clarify: I am speaking of the IRC channel, not the game or boards themselves.

This seems to be a fairly common trend in most chatrooms. #nsg isn't really any sort of exception, there's just a different standard.
