As the pig I am, I´ll have to go with the hottest, i.e. robin :p j/k

Er... Bamse, världens starkaste björn, though he might not count, so I´ll have to go with Wolverine.

Du härdades i solsken, du drunknade i regn
Men en sak är säker, du är en riktig vän

Thanos. Though he's not really a superhero.. He's a nihilist, worships death, and desires to destroy all the universe to make her happy. Usually in the Marvel Universe, he's either a bad guy or a good guy, always with his own insane purposes.

I like Batgirl (The current version, the one that can't talk, read of understand language because she's been thaught by Kain to be a perfect assassin since young).

Galactus is pretty cool too I guess. I think he's probably synonymous with my character. I like eating worlds too.

Heh. Statesman rocks. But for the purposes of the poll, I went with the Silver Surfer. The Surfer/Galactus story is one of Marvel's all-time best.

Making Comics radio on Live365 has been playing radio play versions of Dredd for a while now. Pretty cool, and a damn sight cooler than that...I won't even mention it...you know...

I needed that poll to be multi option.

Ghost Rider is the only comic I ever actually collected, as in tried to get the whole run (got close, too.) Not the new-ish Ghost Rider but the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider. And not because of what Nicholas Cage is saying about him, that assessment makes me leary of the coming movie. It's not a Spawn deal, where he takes the power of evil and uses it for good. That's (okay, here's where I'd say 'gay,' but this has nothing to do with homosexuality-I really need a new word for this. Let's just settle on silly and stupid and affectatious).

The real deal with Ghost Rider, what made that character interesting to me, was that it was a spirit of Vengence. Blaze wasn't using the demon, the demon was using Blaze. Blaze had to want vengence, believe someone deserved it-but then deal with the burden of vengence-that it is not a clean cut, it problematized vengence by giving someone what they thought they wanted. That complexity was great. And it came on a flaming chopper.

Likewise, I like Silver Surfer because it was near ultimate power granted to the person who wanted it the least. And, for some reason, he rode a surf board.

Spiderman, from my two previous response I'm sure you can guess what I like about him. It's why I'm not bothered by the movie making the webing come out of his wrists. Spiderman being cool has nothing to do with spider powers, he could be Salad Shooter Man he'd still be cool if the story element was there.

Batman is interesting because he has no powers (though being a billionaire could be considered a superpower, but until Bill Gates start solving crimes...) he is just determination and will. This matters in the DC world because of the magnification of powers there, and that it is a regular human that really holds the most sway there.

Lastly, my first and probably always favorite has to be The Shadow. My dad used to listen to a radio station that played old time radio on long trips (long ish, AM has a long broadcast width) and I became enthralled with him ever since. By todays standards, The Shadow can sometimes come off as pretty goofy, but the idea of the character is pretty cool.

If you are including the DnD universe, then unquestionably the coolest superhero is Minsc. If not, then the coolest superhero is Stupendous Man.

If you are only counting the "conventional" superheroes, then I would have to go with Spidey, although I also have a growing fondness for Batman (virtually destroyed by Adam West, resurrected by more recent comics) and Superman. What can I say; I have a fixation for Kantian archetypes and tortured superheroes.

Both of them need to die horrible deaths. Although, I must admit, I recently got bored enough to watch Captain Planet (VERY bored, trust me.), and the newest run is actually fairly good.
Underdog, however, should have magnets run over the film, which should then be burned and buried in a lead block coated with silver and consecrated by priests of any number of religions.

Spiderman, as much for the soap-opera-like life of Peter Parker, if nothing else.

I don't like the way they draw and write the comic nowadays, though. I much prefer the comic the way it was in the 60s and 70s. The same applies for all other comics, for that matter.

Hmm...from the list, I'll have to say Spiderman. I mean, who DOESN'T like a guy who cans wing from buildings and has amazingly corny lines to annoy the enemy?

But not from the list, Spaceman Spiff or Stupendous Man. Gotta love Calvin and Hobbes...

Yea, Mystery Men, with characters like The Shoveller, Invisible Boy and The Blue Raja battling the likes of Casanova Frankenstein and those two disco brothers.

My favorite superhero is Venom, that symbiote (attached to a man) that hates Spiderman. He was also a hero; he just dispensed a bit of extreme justice and would stop to try to kill Spiderman if he had the chance.

The Maxx comes in a close second.

I know I'm going to get seriously lampooned for this, but... Bananaman? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bananaman)

(Go on, laugh heartily and throw pillows, you know you want to!)

All these are too generic and expected. As a comic fan I don't just want a superhero that will save the day and get the girl, I like superheroes that breed social change and create revolutions in this world too. So this is why i say my favorites are Rorschach of The Watchman and Green Arrow.

Gambit for marvel

But all time, Batman. He didn't need any superpowers, he just kicked some major ass.

Spiderman is my fav. because he's economically sound...he doesn't need all those fancy gadgets and cars...no batcave/computer/mobile, and no achilles heel i.e.-kryptonite...sure he's got super spidery powers, but he's also smart and cunning...I like the character quite a lot

my fav. anti-hero is the punisher...he rocks my anti-world:p

The Hulk, whenever you have everybody else in a contest with him, all their attacks will just tick him off and make him bigger and stronger.

Bond..........James Bond

It's true James Bond is technically a superhero. Although he only has one power, Luck. Yes, good luck in considered a superpower in most superhero Genre's.
