Well is it?

I think it is. Maybe the 1932-33 England tour of Australia was better, but I can't remember that far back.

I would say yes, this is the first series where i have been able to sit through more then half an hour without getting bored. Then again, im not old enough to remember ian botham and the like

Well, this is pretty good. But I think Bodyline was something else - we haven't seen anything completely new in this series, but rather simply lots of good cricket.

Botham's ashes was excellent too, but I think this one is better balanced match for match.

The way it's been going I would be surprised if Australia managed to eke out a three figure lead, and leave England with some runs to chase.

Ahem... Leg Theory.

That's true, but as I said, I wasn't around back then. Certainly this is best cricket I can remember for a long time.

It would be great if England won, they haven't since 1989 apparantly and being one at the time I can't remember what its like

It's 1 all on the fourth test match out of five, and England is looking like they are going to win this game.

If the end score is 2 all then the Aussies will retain the Ashes, so England need two victories. It's only so great this year because the Aussies were quite rightly confident for a long while, but it grew to the excess till they thought they were unbeatable. They were claiming the score would be 5 - 0 to them before starting.

England is winning-ish.

Series is presently tied at 1-1, with it looking like England is about to go 2-1 up. But honestly anything could happen at this point its been that sort of a tour for australia.

They narrowly squeaked a draw last week.

Or one victory and a draw. (Or even a tie though that hasn't happened for England since 1962 v. W. Indies I believe).

I've been loving it. Partially because we're actually playing a damn sight better then Australia (since when were they so pants at playing swing? Especially when Lee is normally so very very good at it? Surely Simon Jones' injury (if it's unplayable) is the perfect opportunity for Paul Collingwood?), partially because it's just... sitting in front of the TV... all day long.

But best series ever? I have no idea, it's the first one I've been properly watching though. I was on holiday for the bulk of the previous two ones (although I remember us (Angus Fraser!) creaming the Aussies in the final test four years' ago. Pity we were already 4-0 down or something).

Bump! so the Aussies can pitch in.
