Insomnia and Me.

Here it is, a little over 5 hours until my friend arrives to pick me up to go to the Ren Fest.
My kilt is hanging, waiting to be put on..and all my stuff is packed and ready to go..
...and I cant sleep.
Im tired sure...but Ive been through this many times, and its just no good.
I'll toss and turn for a few hours, and maybe get an hours worth of sleep.
Tomorrow will be a long day, full of drunken debauchery, and I need to be well rested for it...
..seems as though thats not to be.
SO......
You folks need to entertain me...and help me kill time.

Im wondering if anyone on this forum occasionally suffers from insomnia as well, and if so...were you actually diagnosed with it, or dod you just have frequent trouble sleeping?

Ooh! Chronic insomnia here. :) Not fun. Can't focus on anything, can't drive a car or get work done, etc.. but can't sleep either. I get maybe one good night's sleep a week.. never been diagnosed though.. although the internet is great for "unauthorized" perscription drugs, and I take loads.. and I mean that in the full-blown Rush Limbaugh 200-a-week sense. Again, not fun.

i dont really have insomnia, but sometimes i lie awake at night for a couple of hous wishing myself to sleep, and just staring at the cieling, tired as hell, but not sleeping

I suffer from bouts of insomnia. Mostly as a side-effect of the Mania I suffer due to having Bipolar Disorder. My meds make life easier, but not entirely normal. Occasionally my life becomes an insane roller coaster ride anyway. Mind you, when I'm really manic, sleep is irrelevant. I can go 4 or 5 days on with a grand total of 4 to 6 hours sleep and feel awesome. What goes up, unfortunately, must come down....then I just sleep the clock around and feel like an arthritic gorilla that's huffed too much ether
