I just saw it and it was awesome. Have you seen it? What was your impression of it?

I haven't seen it, in fact this is the first I've heard of it.

Given my initial impressions of the subject matter, I'm not likely to be too impressed with it, even if I do end up watching it. I don't have much respect for the mentality that hates Bush merely because he's rich and was born into fortune; I prefer to hate him because the man is a remarkably poor president.

So many people start out with "I hate Bush" and work backwards from that concept, using it as their politcal credo. I can't stand that shit. "I hate Bush" shouldn't [for whatever reason] be the foundation of your distates for the man. Use real reasons if you're going to dislike people; Bush couldn't help being born into a rich family any more than $AFRICAN_KID can help being born into a poor one. Neither of these stipulations poses any sort of reflection on the moral character of a man. His actions do that for him.

Well then you will like it because it is precisely about his actions and not his money (although it follows the use of his money and the shady way in which he gets it) which makes this documentary so damming for him. I don't hate anyone because they are rich either. That would be truely silly.

You are correct. The fact that he is in a wealthy family shouldn't count against him. It's how he acts.

I respect people that make a fortune from nothing. The people I can't stand are the ones born with the money and act is they are a superior individual. I went to a wealthy school. My family is not. Many of the children acted as if they made the fortune. Then there were those that were as "normal" as anybody else.

Evaluate the man and his actions. Not his bank account.

Even if that is the case, I don't really need a documentary to tell me why Bush is an idiot. I'm sure I can appreciate it on some level because it undoubtedly resonates with some of the problems I have with the man, but when I saw Farenheit 9/11, for example, I found myself asking "Yeah.... and?" a lot of times. Most of the shit he had to say I already knew, and when it got to the part where it was playing that ominous music while showing various US dignitaries shaking hands with random Arabs, I got the distinct impression that Moore just wanted me to be pissed off at the fact that we occasionally have diplomatic/business relations with these people.

Traditionally, liberals love to use Bush as a lynchpin for their ongoing assertation that wealth inherently degenerates morality. While he may appear to be exemplifying this phenomenon, I'd tend to think that his actions are responsible for said decay; as The Black Forrest so astutely observed.

I don't think I do it justice. You just have to watch it - he makes a way better case (with supporting documentation) for why we shouldn't put our faith or trust in Bush.
