I'm sleepy.

So last night I went to bed around 2AM rather drunk. I awoke at 7am with a hangover. tossed and turned for a bit, managed to get a couple more minutes sleep, and got out of bed at 8. I had a strange dream about barges loaded with cargo sinking into a river, trying to catch toads and lizards, and an evil female clown who killed her daughter. Now I'm at work, my headache reduced to a tolerable level by aspirin and Ibuprofen, but my brain is Jello and I want nothing more than to recline back in my chair and take a nap. There's really no point to this post. I'm in no shape to come up with a point. Oh, fetuses may not feel pain until the sixth month, but I've discovered I feel no pain after six martinis.

Wow- the night before last I had a few beers and then a few scotches-flopped into bed without downing the usual water and Coke at 3am. I dont remember dreams when I'm sober, but remembered this dream where I was on a prop plane starting to taxi on a runway in India and if we didnt take off right away, we were going to be detained.
And yesterday was then just a shitty day, in general.

Its a friday in the summer, slip out when no one is paying attention.

Btw-I freaking hate clowns. They are all evil. I hope I never have a dream with any clowns in it.

Me too. I find that drinking a couple of litres of OJ helps me for some reason. Its funny, I get my hangovers a full 24-30 hours after I have been out. So I have a hours to get it out of my system and prevent that horrible feeling of being between sleep and sitting next to a sledge hammer beating a steady pace.

I speak from many years of experience. I have found, that many times, you can offset the major brunt of a hangover by drinking a lot of water before going to sleep. Also, advil or tylenol helps too. I also think Coke has been like a medicine. I think the main evil of the hangover is from dehydration.

Of course, there are times when you have gone too far over board-Like when I used to sail with Captain Morgan-and you just have to pay the price.
I havent been vomit hung-over in a long time. I'm 38 and trying a little "liver conservaton" now.

So last night I discussed religion with a friend of mine, and then I had to go to bed because I was going to go to yoga. I had a dream that I went to 6am yoga, then woke up and started getting ready for 9am yoga at 8. However halfway through I realized that I had left my bike at the studio the last time I went because I was picked up, and that there was nobody sufficiently awake that I could ask them to drive me and still be polite. So I got on the computer instead, and you must be on the East Coast because in PST you posted this at 8:33 AM and it's kind of absurb to think you could get up at 8 and be at work half an hour later.

Mixing Tylenol and alcohol can cause liver failure.

Stick to clear stuff. When I was in Poland, I was amazed how ratted you could get on vodka, and feel fine the next day.

Is Tylenol the one? Or regular asprin?

Maybe that would explain some things.

I had my gallbladder removed last year and although I dont think that has any bearing on alcohol being metabolized, It doesnt seem like I can drink as much as I used to.

Tylenol. There were lawsuits, now every over the counter pain killer has an alcohol warning, but Tylenol's the one that kills your liver when combined with alcohol. Ibuprofen and Aspirin mixed with alcohol increase the risk of stomach bleeding, which is bad, but Tylenol kills your liver.

My best anti-hangover trick is to set an alarm for about 2 hours after I fall asleep, then down about 10 Tums and a 20 ounce thing of water. Voila!! No hangover!

Ten Tums? That's not bad for you?

Probably is, but it sure does make me feel better. Long history of indigestion!

On the topic of indigestion, I have found "Gaviscon" to work really well-much better than Tums for me.
