Buddy, I'm a simple librarian and I did tech support for almost 2 years, with 3 weeks training. It sounds a lot bigger than it really is...

Let's hope so. Because the tech guys I speak to when my cable goes down four times a day seem to know their stuff. Or they're lying our their ass. It may be the later, because I do alot of unplugging and rebooting...

I couldn't leave Colodia here alone. I plan to surf during owkr hours, like a normal NSer. It may mean I'll need to cut my posting in half... to 50 posts a day...

Don't worry. For most tech support calls you can usually say the same thing:
Caller: "Hi I..."
You: "Shut up and reboot!"
Caller: "..." "Hey, it wor..."
You: "Shut up and hang up!"
(Cookie to anyone who knows where I stole this from... :D )

It's easy. It must be, I can do it.
Follow this list. Stop if it starts working.
1) (If hardware) Check everything's plugged in.
2) Reboot.
3) Reinstall.
4) Warranty it.
There are more complicated things to do if you want to be clever, but that lot's quicker, easier and sometimes cheaper.
Anyway, Monday's a bank holiday. Stay in bed :)
