Nuke bomb designs were indeed recovered from an erstwhile camp of AQ in AFG. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the "father" of the Pakistani "Islamic bomb" is a card carrying member of Lashkar-e-Toiba, which is affiliated to the IIF headed by Usama's AQ. Scientists under him (and he himself) has met Usama quite frequently. Two scientist were suspected to have transferred materials also, but before the Americans could quesiton them, they "escaped" to Burma/Myanmar (IIRC, may be wrong, need to go back and research this connection).

IIRC, Daniel Pearl was onto something on this when he was killed. Btw, has anybody read "Who killed Daniel Pearl"?

I have the material to make an atom bomb too. It's just getting the weapons grade uranium that's the hard part. And trying to get plutonium is even worse. Have you ever tried refining pitchblend in your basement? And the houses around here don't even have basements. And even if you start refining it the electricity company wants to know why you are using as much power as lower Manhatten. And then boy scouts with geiger counters start turning up at your door.

If Osama Von Bin Liner had any brains he's just steal one. Although it's hard to get a fresh atomic bomb that still good to use. They go off you know.

I am sorry, but this post is just kinda dumb. If you have the materials for a bomb, then you already HAVE the enriched uranium or plutonium, you don't need to still get it. They basically are the said materials.
Boys scouts don't go around with geiger counters, officials in the FBI, or the Department of Homeland Security do that.
While it is hard to get a fresh atomic bomb, they don't just "go off." Nukes are actually quitehard to detonate, you can shoot one and it won't go off. Old nukes are even worse, they tend to not go off when you WANT them to.

I am sorry, but this post is just kinda dumb. If you have the materials for a bomb, then you already HAVE the enriched uranium or plutonium, you don't need to still get it. They basically are the said materials.

why all of that stuff was going on therefore he couldn't do it secretly. Or even if he could, It would be hard to refine the plutonium. So you see (s)he was just saying anybody could make a nuke...just would be kinda hard for Osama to make a nuke unnoticed...it wouldn't be feasible....

His homeland is Saudi Arabia, I can't see the US nuking all that oil. And even by Dubya standards, attacking Saudi Arabia in response to Osama Bin Laden would be a bit strange.
