I'm tired of the heat, overly bright sunshine, and humidity. I'm hoping that autumn, my favorite season, comes soon.

You should come over to Ireland. We only have two seasons : spring and autumn :D

what summer? the UK hasn't had one this year... as in even less than usual :(

it pisses down for 2 weeks, then we get 2 or 3 days of sunshine before it goes back to the rain. ah well at least its warm rain rather than winter rain ;)

Do your pubs stay open late or do they close down at a ridiculously early hour like English pubs?

We here in the southern hemisphere would be happy to take it. :)

Nooooooooo! My summer has melted away, I just came back from Israel where I've been all year to the crappy summer in England, and just when I've finished my run of shiftwork and finally have time to catch up on all my friends I'm going back! I want more, no, no, it's nearly over, damnit, grrrrrr

Late. Around 12ish during the week, and 2-2.30 on Saturdays.

english pubs close at 11. clubs close at 2.
edit: of course some pubs get away with closing later by pretending to be clubs :P

but they're changing that this year and bringing in 24 hour licencing laws, FYI

Most of Pennsylvania is a total wreck... all politics aside this place is still a cesspool.

Funny, I think of Texas that way (except for Corpus Christi) :p.

The last two days in NJ have been what I look foward to- 80s in the day, low humidity and cool dry nights. I'm in heaven right now-especially after almost two months of high 90s with high humidity.

I dont even want to see my next electric bill. July's was over $300.00 with the a/c and pool running constantly. The bill is normally $150.00.

...clouds are moving and the water is high *whistles tune*

Then you're definitely in the wrong place: When I lived in NC for a year, it went from hot humid summer, to hot fall, to mild spring. There was no winter. No freezing temperatures, no frost. I felt like being cheated for a season, there!

As for the "summer" here: It's August, for crying out loud, and it's cloudy, rainy, and doesn't even get really bright outside. Just overcast and quite chilly. This summer definitely sucks a lot!
On the other hand, I bet that the fall here will be even more like fall: Take the above and add even more rain and colder temperatures. Crap!

I want me summertime! Now!!! Come on, St. Peter - what are you doing?

It's too bright and sunny for me. I like autum, when the nights come early and the temp. is in the low 70s and high 60s.

I like autumn too, but the subconscious dread of winter kind of puts the taint on it for me.

I love autumn. Buuuut, it means back to work for me, so I always view it with mixed feelings. Excitement, yes... dread of bureaucracy, yes... 10 months of papercuts and incessant grading, yes... awesome discussions in class, yes... dealing with some weird emergency yes.... ;)

Up here it is. Maybe I need a house in New Zealand to spend the (northern hemisphere) summer months in.

It's supposed to have been the warmest winter for decades this year. It's still not that warm though. It's been raining less in the last few months, but then it'll rain during summer anyway.
