my feeling when its Labor Day!
sing out loud ! just a face in the crowd! I see the world can bee free! my spirits start to fly. Feeling do proud, feeling im a member of the the Labour Movement.
see a banderole: " united we stand and divided we fall, Live is journey shared by everyone". all parent want to se thay children leraning to crawl learing to fight against social injustice.
social democracy and the trade union movement always try to winn every election but brining joy to someoneĀ“s life is still the highest prize. Yes its more and power, more and fortune and fame. thereĀ“s a verison, goal, a heart and soul. we are a part of Movement are dream is the same. what we feeling to today it will light up the way come tomorrow its more and power.
Every social reform its one brick in the wall of egoism.
we are social democrat whit proud and whit joy.

Sure Labor Day is great, but it doesn't mean everyone gets to celebrate. America doesn't stop for any holiday.

Labor Day is a United States federal holiday that takes place on the first Monday of September.
Labor Day has been celebrated on the first Monday in September in the United States since the 1880s. The September date has remained unchanged, even though the government was encouraged to adopt May 1 as Labor Day, the date celebrated by the majority of the world.
also people in USA celebrate it.
Is this like a poor substitute for May 1?
Fucking celebrate mayday! Dont buy that liberal bullshit!

Umm...not everyone. I know alot of people who work on Labor Day, up to 16 hours or so. No overtime or anything.

The origins of the American Labor Day can be traced back to the Knights of Labor in the United States and a parade organized by them on September 5, 1882 in New York City. In 1884 another parade was held, and the Knights passed resolutions to make this an annual event. Other labor organizations (and there were many), but notably the affiliates of the International Workingmen's Association, many of whom were socialists or anarchists, favoured a May 1 holiday. With the event of Chicago's Haymarket riots in early May of 1886, president Grover Cleveland believed that a May 1 holiday could become an opportunity to commemorate the riots. Thus, fearing that it might strengthen the socialist movement, he quickly moved in 1887 to support the position of the Knights of Labor and their date for Labor Day.

The September date has remained unchanged, even though the government was encouraged to adopt May 1 as Labor Day, the date celebrated by the majority of the world. Moving the holiday, in addition to breaking with tradition, could have been viewed as aligning the U.S. labor movements with internationalist sympathies.

Yes you have right some people must work on dis day.
What the hell; it's a free day off. However, I'd rather just work on it and save the day for a better time. I've got nothing to do in September but golf, and I can do that any weekend.
