New Zealand just racked up 397/5 in a one day international against Zimbabwe, leaving them one short of equalling the record, and 3 short of the coverted 400 mark.

Lou Vincent was well on his way to the individual world record, and a possible double century before he fell on 172 (off 119), Stephen Fleming knocked up 93 at just over a run a ball while Brendon McCallum finished 50 not out off 21 balls at the end.

The craziest thing? It was a rain reduced game. NZ only had 44 overs to work with. Had they had the full 50 available, who knows where the score might have finished

For anyone who knows anything about the game of cricket, 397 in 44 overs is an absolute slaughter. Zimbabwe need 9.05 an over to win. Good luck to them.

Lol, niether team has actually used theirs yet. The whole point of the rule is so you can have 5 specialist bowlers and 7 batsmen, but its useless if you have to pick your sub before the toss.

I don't think the current Zimbabwe could score 300 let alone 400 when if they were playing the Timbuktoo U17 team.

They are 3/103 (22) at the moment.
