I hardly think it's a fair example.... it's not like that's the rule after all. But I have a question. What could the USA possibly do with MORE nuclear weapons? it already has enough to sterilise the world several times over... surely more are just pointless wastes of money that could be better served say.... oh, bettering the standards of living for the average person?

Besides.... it's highly likely that unless the USA escalates things, no nation will declare war on them.

If America has more nukes, it just shows hostility. Then all other nuclear nations will build their nuclear bastion, and you have a much bigger fuckin problem, it's just stupid.

A tactical warhead worth just 10 kilotons makes a nice big boom that takes alot of conventional explosive to mimic, plus the fact that you're willing to nuke your enemies makes them think twice about being your enemies.
