Argh, so many majors to choose from!

Well, after I graduate a university I'd like to go on to graduate school. For what, I've only decided on Law school. I just know I'd like to be a lawyer, either for private citizens or companies. But that's a whole new story and I haven't yet understand the differences in differences in jobs of law.

Also, I'd like a job in either the Department of State or the Department of Defense. Though I haven't looked into the job opportunities, income, or qualifications needed. I don't want some run-of-the-mill job. Like for the State Department, I want an actual job helping to run the show in a U.S. Embassy abroad.

Anyway. These are majors I'm most interested in and reasons why I've considered them. As far as I know, you can take one major in a university. Though I've heard people can take 2. I'm taking that into account.

Just your two cents, personal experiences, or suggestions on what's best for me will do. As I'm 15 now but next year I'll start worrying about what colleges to apply for and I don't know what I even want to pursue yet.

Commercial Pilot - I've heard that pilots of the larger planes, namely Boeing 737 Jets, can indeed make a good amount of money.

American Government/Politics - Well, I would indeed like to one day work in the government in one way or another. I would even like to join the State Department.

American History - To get a broader understanding of U.S. History, preferably an unbiased education free from either American or forgein influence as much as possible.

Atomic/Molecular Physics - I forgot the reason why this was one of my options...bah.

Business Administration/Management - I think I can make an effective leader given my abilities.

Business/Managerial Economics - Again, forgot.

Creative Writing - I think this got on my list because it is English related. Bah.

Drama/Theater Arts - Well, I really enjoy comedic acting. I have fun, my audiences love my acts thus far, it's different, I like it.

Economics - I have a good reason for this but I forgot. Keep in mind I'm copying from my search on collegeboard.com

English - English, a very dominant language in the 21st century. I wouldn't mind learning how to use it properly and to my advantage.

Genetics - Interesting stuff to say the very least. As science looks toward couples having customized babies, I'd say this may be an important major for the future of science. And apparently the study is still in its relative infancy compare to what we CAN learn.

International Economics - Again, forgot

International Relations - Well, considering I'd want a job in the State Department, this seems pretty darn useful, no?

Journalism - Another job I'd like is something in the media. Preferably if I choose this path I'd actually leave the U.S. and move to Britain and try my luck out with the BBC simply because I believe the BBC is a better newsource than American media companies and that one can stay morally sane working for the BBC.

Philosophy - Apparently this wouldn't get me very far in the world, but believe it or not I'm quite intreged by philosophical thought.

Political Science/Government - Politics, what more can I say?

I know it's a hefty read, and you don't really need to read it all if you don't want to. Unless you already read it and just read this and are cursing me right now.

But again. Personal experiences with these majors? Job opportunities I can expect with these majors? What's best for a graduate school? What's the way to go for law school?

They tell you absolutely nothing in high school so I have to rely on other means to make myself successful.

You want to tailor your Major towards your specific job. That's why they excist. For instance political science, a second (third or fourth ) language & american history is a good ticket for an embassy job. Plus, make sure you don't cock up. Because you'll want your record sweeky clean.

Well I already know English (obviously), I'm taking 4 years of Spanish all throughout high school and am currently on Spanish 2. And during my university years I plan on going for a third language. Either German or French.

Good, they are all very universal languages. Picking up some basic Chinese or Japanese couldn't hurt either.

My uncle has worked as a patent attorney for the past 40 years (roughly) and done pretty well for himself. If you like traveling to other countries and taking care of many many little details without people's lives and limbs being on the line, this might be the job for you.

Alternatively, my future sister in law works for the government as a contract lawyer and actually writes bills. This might be the way to go to combine your two interests of law and government.

Well, English would be important for Public Relations type jobs; otherwise, the only use I can think of off hand is teaching. Unfortunately, unless you plan to go for a doctorate, become a college professor and write your own books on your chosen subject area, it's neither very prestigious or lucrative. That make not matter much to you if you sincerely love the subject and want to warp -er- shape young minds. ;) Additionally, if you are looking to learn a dominant language for the 21st century, you might well consider Chinese.
