Flavoured Coffee?

So, I was sitting at my desk drinking a nice, delicious cup of coffee and listening to Denis Leary. I was listening to his rant about flavoured coffee, and it got me thinking: what's the bloody point? Is the taste of coffee so bad that it needs to be flavoured? I really don't get it. Coffee is perfect the way it is; you cannot make it better than it already is.

I like french vanilla coffee.
No flavoured coffee is not good. It has to be just coffee all the way..coffee hmmmmmm
it's the caramel or cinnamon which makes coffee for me...flavoured coffee all the way! :)

I like some of the flavored creamers that Carnation makes, like hazelnut and amaretto. Regular coffee is OK, too.

yup, coffee is perfect the way it is, we do not need to change it. Just let the caffinated love flow through your veins. FYI though, don't drink ten cups before a GCSE exam, god i was hyper that day, fun though. Sugar is not right in coffee, it is evil.

Except, as mentioned, a cup of Irish Coffee...
Or maybe a properly made Turkish/Greek coffee with Ouso...

I just like plain coffee, sometimes a shot of milk in it.
I dont care for flavored coffees-the only variations I like would be in the coffee strength. I like espresso.
I dont like sugar in coffee. I dont like alcohol added to coffee-But, I will have coffee and Amaretto,Sambucca or Frangelica on the side, seperate. I just dont like them mixed.

Me heart mocha. Iced mocha. Mocha IC from Panera. Whatever way you make it, I love it.

Is this a continuation of the "How can you not like coffee?" thread?
:gundge: French roast is the best! You don't even know!

Maybe a simple flavor every so often, but most of the time, just go with straight up coffee. Any flavor with more than three words in it is evil. And so is decaf.

And the stronger the better. Funny thing--I've tried expensive coffee, once I even tried a coffee that runs about $40 a pound, and it was really good, but my favorite coffee for taste is El Bustelo, a cheap ass, $3 a pound coffee that comes in a yellow and red can. It's like liquid crack.

Have you guys heard of the high, high end coffee where they feed a cat the coffee bean whole, then wait for it to shit it out, then make the coffee.
If that what good coffee is, I want the bad shit.
Also SCREW STARBUCKS, don't feed the beast!!!!!!!

It's actually a species of weasel IIRC...
All roasing being equal (which it is not) you can taste the difference between a "good" bean and a "bad" bean... it's just subjectivity that makes the flavor from that "bad" bean taste better than the "good" bean. Or vers-visa...
It really all comes down to the roaster. A "good" roast is not burnt and has very limited acid. A bad roast... well... you could do as well with pencil shavings.

I think it's the civet cat actually...[goes off to check...and comes back, as I just can't be arsed]
Anyway...a friend of mine bought a few jars of flavoured instant coffee a few months back - amaretto, mint, orange, and dark chocolate. Now they all smell of the flavour they're meant to be, but I'm buggered if I can tell any difference between the flavour of each one, or even the flavour of each one compared to regular instant coffee.

I happen to like coffee flavored coffee enough that I haven't felt the need to actually try any flavored coffees. And umm... decaf is quite possibly the root of all evil.
