What, in your opinion, is the best Rock Opera?

American Idiot (Greenday)
Quadraphenia (The Who)
Tommy (The Who)
The Wall (Pink Floyd)
Lifehouse (Pete Townshed)

Please suggest some more, as I am sure that there are more than that.

My rundown:
American Idiot: Good music, Clear. But lacking depth and irony.
Quadraphenia: Okay music, unclear
Tommy: Great music, clear, funny, entertaining, very very good
The Wall: What I have heard from it is good
Lifehouse: what songs I have heard are good

I think I'd argue that...the music can be taken as being very political, but I think there is a decent amount of depth. Maybe a pinch of irony, but definatly some depth behind it

I would have to say the best is The Wall...or else Tommy

i wanna know too. are you talking about symphonic rock (like nightwish's phantom of the opera and/or pharoah sails to orion and/or devil and the deep dark ocean and/or dead boy's poem) or rock that tells a story (like tenacious D's tribute).

...those are my nominees for both.

The Wall all the way, baby!

What about that one by Queen, "We Will Rock You", I think it is?
