Wingnuts suggesting that Bush Admin caused Reid stroke.

This may sound terribly tinfoil-hat of me, but I think there's something uncomfortably improbable about this:

a) A major figure in the civil rights movement.

b) The mother of a major figure in the peace movement.

c) The leading D in the Senate.

All suffering strokes of one degree or another, within a few days of each other.

At very least, a few things deserve to be looked into, to put this issue to rest one way or the other.

Are there any known means of inducing a stroke, either by some kind of drugs or toxins, or by other means such as focused microwave radiation directed toward the target?

Were there any irregular activities noted in the vicinity of all of these individuals? Any suspicious patterns?

Comparisons with statistical probabilities among equivalent demographic groups, and then comparisons between both the individuals above and comparable individuals on the other side of the fence.

Stroke should be normally distributed with respect to political affiliation, so there should be no difference between incidence among dissidents or opponents of the regime, and incidence among supporters of the regime.

What we should see if everything's normal, is that there is a statistically insignificant difference between the cases above, and a corresponding set of cases from the right wing. For example, where there three (plus or minus statistical variance) strokes among families prominent on the right during the same time?

I'm not saying a-priori that Karl Rove's Masked Men are sneaking around beaming microwaves into the brains of dissidents. Generally I dismiss conspiracy theories as so much BS.

What I do see here is what appears to be a "cluster" of cases among people who are in the position to cause serious trouble for the Regime. And "clusters" are, in public health, always a reason for at least taking a closer look.

Awww, this gets better every week.

I mean, they have used assasination before to get rid of political opponents.

It is pretty strange, and worth looking into. I mean that's three people who were quite inconveinient to the Republican party and Bush administration, and all three had strokes within days of each other? It's just a little too conveinient.

I say we need an autopsy on each of them, see if there is evidence of foul play. A general investigation couldn't hurt either.

Dude, JFK was offed by LBJ. Dem-on-dem fratricide is much more common. I think Reid's stroke probably came from trying to hold too many contradictory "Facts" in a single mind, a disease common among politicians on both sides of the aisle... that, and he didn't smoke enough, so his nerves were frazzled. :p

Random rightwing quote:

There is only one way to look at this:

If you are a Muslim and a policeman tells you to stop, it might cross your mind to keep on walking.

If you do, the next thing to cross your mind could well be a bullet.

Moral of the story: convert to Christianity. Make the world a better place.

Ahah! All right wingers believe that muslims should be killed unless they convert to christianity!

One other thing about that original post--it was the second comment on a thread that was about well-wishes for both Harry Reid and Coretta Scott King, and the comment received 32 ratings, none from me, although I can tell you what I would have rated such an idiotic comment.

At Kos, if you're a member, you get to rate comments from 0-4, with 0 being "troll" and 4 being "excellent." This user received 32 comments with an average rating of 2.15. I looked at the ratings, and they were mostly 2 and below, with some 4's thrown in there--as some of the lower comments noted--because they thought the zeroes weren't warranted. In short, the 4's were balancers, not agreement.

You can tell more about how most members felt about the comment if you read the comments below it--there were a couple of people who agreed it was possible, but most didn't.

And by the way, any time you want to put the comments of Kos members up against the comments from mouth-breathers at the Free Republic or Little Green Footballs, I'm ready.

I thought "wingnut" was a term for someone in the airforce or something along those lines.

Anyway - although i wouldn't put it past a powerful republican or democrat or anyone else with an agenda to try and kill someone that is in their way- this is probably just coincidence.

who knows but this idiotic bashing of the entire left for something said by one guy with a conspiracy theory is just plain sad.

i'm sorry for you and your inability to see a bigger picture. once again i feel compelled to tell a conservative with a plank in his eye that the world is not so black and white.

try to spread some peace and understanding for once.

All right, I'll play the popular Republican game of "Discredit and Libel Your Critics."

Here's a couple of choice quotes from Senor Stinky Head Cheese in another thread:

See, that is where you are wrong. Any namecalling of conservatives and republicans is a personal attack on me.

When you call Conservatives and Republicans, it's a personal attack. But when you call Liberals and Democratics "Wingnuts," it's THE TRUTH!! BRILLIANT!!

Also in that same thread:

Hypocrisy is a chronic disease.

Physician, Heal Thyself.

Bullshit. Now, while it may be probable that there was more than one shooter, it is highly doubtful that the republicans had anything to do with the shooting, especially since it was another Dem president who oversaw the Warren Commission.

Again with the terminology problem--it's really simple. Wingnuts are Republican crazies, and Democratic crazies are moonbats. Come on now--it's not that difficult to keep it straight.
