Are there any NS esperanto speakers that can help explain the use of cxi (i'm using "cx" to indicate an accented "c")
I understand that its a correlative to indicate all members of a group but what is its purpose in sentences such as:
Kio estas cxi tio?
or
Cxi tio estas besto
Why does cxi need to be included at all when, in the first sentence, "Kio" means "what, what thing" and "tio" means "this"? It seems like all parts of the sentence are covered by Kio estas tio and I cant figure out why cxi is included at all.

I think it's used to make the sentence a question, but I'm not a big fan of Esperanto and I'm only somewhat familiar with it, so you may want to take that with a grain of salt.
Right now, I'm working on a constructed language for socialist ideas.

How do you know about my project Socialese? I guess it's much more well-known than I thought it was. All this time, I thought it was only known on one obscure forum.
