I've been having a problem with Spybot S&D. And yes, I checked the Help file, first. :p Anyways, it doesn't seem to be getting rid of the files it finds, despite the fact that it used to in the past. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. AdAware's been glitching at times when I try to d/l the update, and hasn't been catching the stuff Spybot's been detecting. Any thoughts?

Also, if any of you could recommend some awesome fonts and XP themes, that'd be nice, too.

You might check to see if you have a variant of coolwebsearch. That bastard will reinstall itself. Look to cwshreader to kill it.

It could be the system restore option bringing the crap back.....

Depending on what it is, you may have to actually search for the file and uninstall it. I had to do this with search hijackers. (I have Spybot S&D as well).

Mm, doesn't seem like it's a toolbar. *goes to rescan* If need be, I'll post a screenshot.

It does seem like it's the sytem restore option bringing it back. How would I disable it?

Grab a copy of HijackThis, and check msconfig.

Download the ad-aware update manually (You should pay me for advice like this). Boot up in safe mode and scan with Spybot, and download the Microsoft Antispyware program

It's been a while since I ran HiJack This, so thanks for the reminder.

I'll get the Microsoft one, now.

Hurray for manual updates.

Hopefully, it'll work.

While we're at it, can someone tell me how to solve the problem where Spybot-S&D's little companion, TeaTimer.exe, slowly builds up memory usage until it takes from 100k-200k of my RAM?
