Christopher Walken for President (http://www.walken2008.com/index.html)

Couldn't do much worse than what we've got now, could he? And I would love to hear him do the State of the Union address.

"My fellow Americans. The state

of our

union

is strong."

I'm hoping his site isn't an idea of how low-key his campaign will be. I'd really like to see a huge campaign put forth by an independent. He has the money, he can get the support. He might change politics, who knows?

He's already got plenty of publicity just by being Walken.

Even if it wasn’t a hoax, all I know is that he is an actor, and I haven’t seen any of his movies. I wouldn’t ever vote for somebody from Hollywood.

Why not? He's just another person getting into politics.

I prefer someone from Hollywood whom everyone knows how he got his money than some guy who just sucked up money from his dad and ran oil companies.

What's he gonna do? A 300% income increase for all actors?

Yes. Wouldn't he make the most interesting looking president since President Andrew Jackson? :D

In 200 years, kids will be reading the history books, looking at the pages with pictures of previous presidents, come across Walker, and go What the flying fuck is THAT?

Would rather that than these career politicians. I personally think for all elected officials a set 1 term limit. That way they know they are going back to being an average citizen and have to live with their choices like the rest of us. Same as I think for the supreme court they need limits. Instead of the relics dang nigh on deaths doorstep.

Logical as in : well if I do this I will get X amount of money ? If I go the other way they will use that money to get me kicked out and I might have to get an honest job ? :)

If you took the time to look into their motives, you would see that most US politicians are extremely logical. Sure, the logic is often selfish and aimed only at furthering their career and their party, but at least it is predictable and not done on whimsy. Their actions sometimes seem illogical if you don’t make an effort to look into the whole situation. When their plans backfire, it looks extremely illogical, but, more often than not, you can see how people would have thought it was a good idea at the time.

Irrational...

...Such as a person invading some forgein nation in the middle east that has no connections to terrorism nor does it have any weapons of mass destruction even though the person made these claims?

Don't generalize. I understand the whole psychology debate but please.

From a certain point of view, it was logical. The neo-cons figured that winning two wars in one presidency would garner them support for years to come. They had historical precedent to go on. Americans love winners.
Because the plan backfired, it seems illogical.

And yet you prefer a man like that above an actor? Tell me how you justify that. You are defending President Bush aren't you? Maybe not as a President, but you are saying he is above an actor.

I’m not saying he is above an actor. We all have our respective talents. Imagine if irrational people were in office. We could end up invading Nepal or something.

And you don't even know what positions Walker has, how are you calling him irrational when all you know is that he is an actor?

The only movie I’ve seen on that whole list is Antz.

It is a hoax.

All I can find on the website are three quotes. One is a non-confrontational thing about Campaign Finance Reform
One shows an unrealistic understanding of the military and a lack of knowledge about the salary of soldiers.
The last is typical Hollywood tripe. There are no restrictions on stem cell research, just no government funding for it.

He wouldn't have to make the country fight in any wars, one look at him and anyone would surrender.
He's just so... scary.
