Tornado in my county

An F3, possibly F4 tornado touched down in one of the counties neighboring Racine County in Wisconsin. Some 90 homes have been leveled in it's path, and it's just now entering my county on the west side. I'm on the east side by the lake, so we're hoping that it will diminish by then, because so far it has lost some of it's intensity.

Scary, a tornado hasn't entered Racine County in a long time.

If it's that bad, I wouldn't bother being on here anymore. Go in the basement until it passes.

My room is in the basement, the safest part of the basement at that.

You live in Wisconsin? Crazy - it's about time we got some rain, though.

As a side note - why are you on a computer if there is a tornado (and presumably, thunderstorms) nearby?

Hope things stay OK with you and yours, AMF.

Tornadoes are cool but they must not be a pleasant way to bite it.

What else am I supposed to do? Not a whole hell of a lot.....

Sitting here curled up in a corner is boring, I'm monitoring the storm and trying to keep my 9 year old brother's mind off of it. I'm on my computer and he's playing video games, we're trying to go about business as usual because he gets scared easily.

Hmm. I can almost see Racine county from here... I can see Chicago clearly on a good day. The Racine County lakeshore is probably only 70 miles or so across lake Michigan from me.

Would be interesting to see a category 3 waterspout...

Ugh, I live in part of Tornado Alley, so I know what it's like, though it's not yet tornado season for us. I'm not afraid of much, but torandos'll really get me twitchy. The worst part? Pretty much the whole state is filled with limestone/clay or a close-to-ground watertable so basements are pretty much nonexistant.

The one time I had a tornado was when I was at a beach. A damn F0\F1 went by only 10 feet from me. And I was outside on a deck of those outdoor hotels! Fear like I've never known. Worst feeling ever, and it didn't sound like a train it sounded more like a motorcycle.
