Ten life sentences with no possibility of parole is what Dennis Rader got for his serial murder spree. The death penalty was not legal in Kansas when he committed the crimes, but if it were, I'm certain he'd have gotten that. In any case, I'm glad that this scumbag is getting his time to rot. He is evil epitomized.

Yeah, and imagine what it was like being a college-aged girl in Wichita at the time he re-emerged recently.......not my idea of fun, that was.

Oh, that was his pattern, actually. He'd kill several people at one time, then stay quite for years, even decades. Once people forgot about him, he killed again.

I would be glad if he got the death penalty, because a monster like him does not deserve to live. I hope he rots behind bars nonetheless (and also gets justice in other ways, like how inmates treat pedophiles).

Death sentence. He can't be rehabilitated. Call it revenge, be honest about it.

Wanna bet Kansas re-thinks their death sentence laws?

Yeah, I'm aware. In case you couldn't tell from my post, I was referring to myself in that situation.

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm a little slow at things like that. In any case, yeah, it would be very scary.

The death penalty is, I believe, now legal. However, it wasn't legal back when Rader did his killings. However, he may have killed a few people after 1991 that we don't know about. If that's the case, he can be retried, and yes, I bet it would be a hanging case.

Nope. We illegalized it again just before his most recent outbreak and his take-down. Unless they get something solid on him and take him to court (though, at this point, most likely even if something comes up, both the KS Supreme Court and Sedgwick County Courts are going to agree that it'd be too expensive to try him again), he'll grow old and die in jail.

*Ahem* Bring forth the next Kansan terror.....Phelps, Dole and BTK just aren't doing it for me. I don't feel truly scared enough in that I'm not gay, Dole isn't our Rep anymore, and Rader's in custody.

Edit: I must correct myself, something that rarely happens. Apparently, and this is something I was just informed of, it's actually my county's decision not to push the death penalty, so I have no clue what the rest of Kansas does. We elite Johnson Countians are just waaaay to civilized to kill the killers, I guess.

Oh if there are more victims discovered after 1991, he'll be sent to the gas chamber (or lethal injection.. or preferably the electric chair if they still have it).

If I had to choose between life behind bars or the death penalty, I'd choose the death penalty. Death is an escape. Anyway, why would you want to sit on your ass in a cell with no one to murder? That'd be torture for the poor killers. :(
