Who Thinks The Books Are Better Than The Films?!!!

I prefer whichever came first:

In the case of HP, the books.

In the case of Star Wars, the films. But only the first three (in release order, not story order.) I never really believed in Anakin.

And now, in other pointless polls...Coke or Pepsi? Other is not an allowable answer.

It's so irritating in a pub/restaurant when you ask for a coke...'Is Pepsi ok?' It's the same damn thing!

actually it's not.

My mom can't drink coke, it closes her throat up. But she can drink pepsi. There's something in coke not in pepsi, I can't remember what though.

Cans or bottles?

Bottled Dr. Pepper is the best. Although, it's hella hard to open one if you don't have the proper utensils.

Cans or bottles?

Bottles.

They have more... and I don't chug them the same as bottles for some reason.

To get this thread back on track, let me say this:

Okay, kinda hard to make a decision on this 'cause with HP (I haven't read any of those books, I tried an audiobook once and it turnes out I loathe HP, whichever medium, book or movie) the books were there first and then the movies were made. So you have a movie made after a book.

SW is a whole different story, though. True, GL wrote his story before he was able to make the movies (and the first book "Star Wars" is written by him) but all the other books are simply books made after a movie (with additional information and so on, but still, the movies were there first, so to say).

Hence, which is better: A movie made after a novel or a novel written to portray what happened in the movie?

I'd say, Star Wars wins big time anyway - But it all depends on the movie and the writer which one turns out better.

(Other example: Star Ship Troopers. Decent, entertaining movie, but ridiculous when compared to Heinlein's novel.)

Worst thing that can (and sadly does) happen way too often: You got a book, they make a movie, and then they publish the book to the movie and when you compare the original novel with the movie book you see grave differences - now that is what I actually call bad!

Bottles....unless you want to explode from carbonation. Bottles are also easily transportable for the non-coordinated (hello...that's me) in the crowd.

On potter, I like seeing the movies. I don't read the books.

On Star Wars, I LOVE the movies (excluding Jar Jar and to young Anakin in the first episode) and I hope they one day make the final three episodes in which the Republic is reformed.

Harry Potter: Books. Way better than the movies, though the movies are pretty good, as well.
Star Wars: Haven't read the books, so I can't really say.
Coke or Pepsi: Coke, definitely.
Bottle or can: Bottle.

There, did that cover everything?

The Harry Potter movies are awful. The books are good, though.
I enjoy the Star Wars books and the movies, although I like the movies a bit more.

Harry Potter books are better-but it was nice to see the film so you can get a proper picture in your head.
I've only read one o fthe star wars books and I must say I prefer the films, except episode 1-that wasn't great, 2 was much better and 3 was fantastic. Love the original 3 0f course.
