You heard wrong. Du Pont corporation is still cranking out plenty of Kevlar. The metal used in arrowheads is steel, not lead, tungsten carbide (for penetrators), or antimony hardened copper (for the bullet jacket).

Do you have a source for this, other than hearsay?
Please, learn to use the comma and the period when writing. They make thing legible. As it is, what you wrote is nigh incomprehensible.
Thank you.

I thought we stopped using lead shot a few decades back...
I really don't think that's true. They're desperate, but not to that point.

The American army is just giving the terrorists a chance by downgrading their weapons to bow and arrows.

We did. Most bullets these days are made from tungsten, or perhaps an alloy w/ tungsten. It's valuable enough that the US government keeps a year's reserve of it.

Well the terrorists have a chance even when we use modern tech. I mean come on we still fighting them plus they kill more and more American Soldiers everyday or every other day.

The military doesn't use lead? That's news to me, but then I'm a civilian. My bullets are lead.

I know some bullets are still lead (environmentalists have shitfits over the lead that gets put into ponds from duck hunting), but I thought that DU/tungsten was used in the military.

It's not desparate for things like that. The military has virtually unlimited capital and resources, and they are often on the forefront of technology. They are desperate for recruits. I know of many kids that wish to join that are blocked by their parents, but that's an entire rant in itself. Anyhow, I guess that's why the military is trying robotic technology.

WTF, in the US when your old enough to join the military its the same age that frees you from your parents they can't do shit.

Depends on the round. Nearly all bullets have copper alloy jacket, containing either a lead core or some sort of penetrator. Penetrator can be steel or something harder like tungsten - these are armor piercing rounds.
As far as I know there is no shortage of materials, but ammunition manufacturing plants are in full production, and some of it is manufactured outside the US.

18 yeears is an arbitrary age. The majority of kids never become independent until their mid twenties. Sure, that rebellious streak is there, but at the end of the day, parents are the primary influence in life. I guess the Oedipus complex is true in more ways than one.
