What do you think is better and will be the new standard, Blu-Ray or HD-DVD?

Blue Ray is said to be slim,,,yet powerful
...some 25 gigs?
Blue Ray. I think it is smaller, and therefore more portable. I could be wrong.
Blu-Ray. It is supposed to be superior to HD-DVD in many ways, but that has yet to be seen.
Blu-ray, from Sony (and backed by Apple, Dell, HP, Panasonic, Sharp and Samsung for hardware, and Disney, MGM and Fox studios), could hold up to 50Gb, on a two-layered disk.
HD-DVDs, from Toshiba (and backed by NEC and Sanyo, and Universal, Paramount and Warner Bros studios), could hold up to 45Gb, on a triple-layered disk. They will probably be exactly the same standard size.
Blu-ray has the bulk of the manufacturers, the studios are split. This probably means that Blu-Ray will win out. There were plans and talks recently to create a standard. But they failed. This means that whichever standard is decided on, or if a compromise is designed, will be further away.
Blu-ray would cost more to us consumers though... they'll need new machines, presses and lasers and stuff, to make, where HD-DVDs can be done in the current factories, and so would prove cheaper.
I myself don't really care much. As long as online stores are flaunting import taxes to Jersey and selling them for dirt cheap, I'm happy whichever is used. What would be nice though, would be for the new players to be backwards-compatible with the current DVDs.
