:) Bought this back in Early July as an advanced Birthday present for myself. It finnaly arrived last Thursday after being backordered forever. As far as I can tell it was made in 1980 at the CUGIR arsenal in Romania, then carried by a Conscript for his 14 months of service. It has very little wear on the bolt carrier and piston which lead me to that conclusion.

I plan on putting it on either a 1mm or 1.6mm Armory USA receiver, and sending it off to be built since I don't have the time to do a refinishing job on it.

I've got 2 more kits like this coming, one from Romania (AIM-47 rifle) and one from Poland (Wz. 88 TANTAL).

I'm pysched, to say the least. :sniper: :mp5: :mp5: :sniper:

Edit: Changed thread title to reflect the upcoming "hijack" :p , and to reflect that I got some MAGAZINES today :p !

Don't burgle ARF-COM and IBTL's place! :pI don't have any pictures of what I'd want to do anyway. I was hoping to... "borrow" my sister's camera to finally take pictures.

I did have digital camera which I would have used except some batteries kinda leaked in it, and it's Kaput.

I don't even know what they'd take. I don't really have any high-dollar electronics, or anything a theif would value except my gun collection (which is pretty small). Maybe the Mercedes, but they're going to have a hard time getting it out of the garage.

These came in the mail today. Funny, Communist war equipment being sold to Capitalism countries on the open market :p  :D One of them has some interesting marks, I'm hoping it was actually carried by an East German infantrymen. It certainly would be cool to have a mag with some history behind it!

I got another kit yesterday in the mail and I've decided I'm going to sell the first kit and keep this one. The one I got yesterday was unfired and was a 1986 year kit-exactly the year I had been hoping for. 1986 was a very influencial year for gunowners, with the 1986 Machinegunban passing as an amendment to the 1986 Firearm owners protection act which ended the alarming abuses of power commited by the ATF. 1986 was also..umm....another very special year for me....because...umm..I can't remember anything from earlier than 1985 ;) .

I stripped the front handguard and I'm staining it with iodine right now. 1 coat down, 2 more to go...and my is it lookin' good...

Oh man, you're from the South, conservative... and you're a gun enthusiast! Not that I have anything against guns or Southerners, but the stereotype is amusing.

Hehe, I umm...was...originally....born...in...califor...n....i...a....

That was hard to admit. Mosied on over to Texas and never looked back.

Nope. You don't have to have an FFL to have these shipped to your door because the aren't the completed rifle. Add an Armory receiver, 50$, and 3-4 hours work and you will have a nice looking weapon. I have finished re-staining the handguards on mine and I just need to put the shellac on them...they are out in the backyard on a table soaking up the good southern sun drying ....

Pics of the semi-completed vertical foregrip. Also known as "The donkey dick grip".

All that is left is to give it a coat of amber shellac, and it's done. I tihnk I did pretty well for my first try.
