So there's now Nintendo DS and PSP. I'm like "Shit, the last systems I bought were PS2 and Game Boy Advance, and I still only have 1 game for my GBA."

So is the GBA now obsolete already? It's only been around, what? 4 or 5 years? Jeez... Has it been that long?!

Anyone else feeling like so many awesome games are coming out that they'll never play due to the high turn-over rate for game systems?

My poor GBA only has Super Mario Advance: Yoshi's Island to keep it company, and now I have to save up to finally get a Nintendo system next spring. I wonder if the new system will play Gamecube games....

I am a Nintendo nut and follow these things closely. The Nintendo DS is NOT a replacement for the GBA, GBA-SP, or the new Mini GBA. The Nintendo DS is meant to be a compleatly fresh introduction of a new console to it's line, but is replacing nothing. The GBA and it's brothers are still going to be around for a while. You have no need to worry about your GBA being obsolete.

However on your mention of too fast tech turnonver, I don't think Nintendo has so much been a contributer to that as much as Sega did. In fact, I'd stake a lot of money on saying that Sega died as a console because they realeased too much hardware too fast.(Master System, Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn....) At one point in time, Sega had the latter 3 in that list on the shelf for sale at the same time.

EDIT: I just got some bad news. Zelda: Twilight Princess has been delayed untill March 2006!!!!!! :( NOOOOOOOOooooo!!!!!! I was so looking forward to that in November!
