Anyone here a Current/Former JSA'er?

I was just wondering, since everyone here is at least slighty politically inclined with some form of brain matter (I've met lots who don't have any... which is why I'm always happy to come read these forums/topics), and I was wondering if anyone here is currently or has participated in the Junior States of America program while in High School.

If you have, shout out! And let the world know you were incredibly opinionated and politically insane even before you could vote...

P.S. and for anyone on this forum who never was part of JSA during their High School careers... :( and that includes members of our illustrious forum who live in other countries ;)

Is this similar to the Model United Nations program?

It's like Model UN, except better. You don't have to debate some random country's opinion, but your own. And, during the summer programs, you can go to places like Washington D.C. and ask very poignant questions of our senators (a couple of my friends went to DC and talked to John Kerry, Hilary Clinton and a couple more, sat in on a House of Representatives session, and talked to people in Bush's cabinet, including his Chief of Staff).

And we're actually a pretty decent political force/special interest group (I hate that word 'special interest group'). A couple of politicians in America I know started out in JSA... I think Colin Powell was one of them, but I'm not too sure, so don't hold me to that.

Not bad, but I kinda enjoyed playing some country's opinion. Nothing like being a rogue state and getting into a fight with the "Great Satan" :D

Sounds elitist to me.
