Just wondering in a moment of broedom really, what are the characteristics of a good Deity. Not 'good' as in nice and cuddly of course, good as in will stand the test of time like, erm, God and Allah etc...
I don't claim to know everything about the Bible, but being brought up in a Christian environment and then going to a Catholic school (and still worshiping the Invisble Pink Unicorn...), I think a good God has to have a really nasty side, for smiting. But also, the God's of today appear somewhat nicer (except Allah, but I don't believe that He really tells the extremists to blow us up...), so maybe a God with multiple personalities is good? Also, from what I know you have to have original ways of carrying out your bidding. For example, I doubt anyone had ever communicated to people through burning bushes before Moses, or somehow had their water turn to blood. A little bit of charm and charisma can't help though, right?
What do y'all think?
NOTE: Please don't turn this into a religous hate thread, its not intended to be like that...
