I dont think Patriotism and Free Movement are mutually exclusive... I quite like my country (Im not rabid enough to say I love it) but Im also a strong advocate of Freedom of Movement... I quite like other countries too...

Brr, no thanks. Not in these temperate climes. Not without very thick, wooly socks, anyway.

I like my country. I am less keen on the people in it.

I am a stern patriot. I view myself as a Nationalist; though most indefinatly not that stereotypical view of one. (I.e. not a racist prick like UKIP or the BNP for example, I am in favour of immigration, but with control, I love foreigners - Them choosing to live here, shows how great this country is - also they contribute to the economy.)

I route out all problems of my country, so I can find out how to solve them, and innevitably make my country greater.

As for being an Irish Patriot, many think: "English hating, IRA and Sinn Féin supporting Bigot" - No, I love England, I oppose Sinn Féin and the IRA, I view them as short sighted people who will ruin this country. Sinn Féin's economic policies will destroy our country, thankfully they've never been in power (Except for our first vote, which was considered void).

Some people mistake me for a critical anti-Irish wanker, who hates his country. Quite the opposite. I see them as blind pathetic people who will drive this country into the ground. Blind Patriotism is a very dangerous thing, and you can see it everywhere in the US.

Definition of Patriotism; from our good friends at Oxford.

I am a patriot, most definitely.
I love my country. It’s instinctive.

I find your definition lacking. I have known Cuban nationals who were extremely loyal to the US.

Yea, I felt in the other thread you didn't quite get me... I mean, I may be coming off as a little anti-British, I don't want to sound that, we Irish people quite like our neighbours.

Yea, a royalist supports a Monarchy, while you have stated, a constitutional Monarchy. The latter is better, but at that, other than the religious role played by the Monarch, I fail to see the reason for having one. :\
