So far I have filmed a great horror movie with some friends.
It is about a campsite which has a killer lurking about it.
Some kids go camping there and a brutally murdered but some survive.
The two survivors have to escape through the woods to get out, but that is where the hunter lurks. The axe-murderer may also be one of the children though...

So, have you any ideas of a good, smart and witty ending. It could involve a very old car and two kids survive. The killer either dies or goes to jail.

I thought of that but it's kind of like copping out of the film. It is one of the lousiest endings I can remember from films but there aren't many other endings for a horror film. Thanks for the post anyway.

Well, what do you think should happen?

No, it's better if some of them die for a laugh.

And they all lived happily after, except for the ones who died for a laugh.

It sounds like your movie is cliqued by its very definition, so I recommend you take this to an extreme, and have it turn out that it was all a dream, and then that was a dream, and then that was a dream, and have the various "Oh wow, what a weird dream" seqeuences become a humerous sort of epilogue to the movie, and then at the end, have some sort of brutal murder of the person that woke up, in a much more realistic setting, ie, their partner suspected them of cheating while in a crazed state of mind on amphetamines, and murdered them in a passionate rage.

And then a message pops up on screen saying "Survivors Don't Do Drugs".

How about the killer chases the two kids down and finally kills them in a very gory fashion, then wanders back into the woods ready for the next group. Thats the ending I'd love to see in a horror movie. The baddie wins for once :D.

It seems all horror movies end up with boy and girl teens surviving and the killer seemingly killed (of course he always turns up again in the sequel). Letting the killer survive and actually get all the little rotters he's chasing would be an interesting and different change.

End it with them resorting to cannibalism.

That's the best way to end everything.

I have to say I agree that THIS is the best possible ending. Most movies end in horrible cliche, and always turn out with "The Good Guys Win... Yay!" Waterana's got the right idea. Kill all the kiddies and make it a real suprise ending!

Are you smart enough to write a good ending?A good ending might be that one of the murdered kids is actually the murderer and he did everything ten little indians style (faked his own death to avoid detection). This would be especially creepy if all the bodies just disappeared.
Or have the police arrest the two kids for the murder in some creepy fictional way.

The two get seperated in the woods while trying to escape the killer. They each assume that the other is already dead.

They end up meeting a few minutes later, but it's too dark and they're too paniced to tell who the other is. One kills the other and only realises what he's done afterwards.

Alternatively, people in horror movies are always so stupid. It'd be great if the ending involves them kicking the killer's ass somehow. Preferably something dramatic.

You know, like in The Grudge (crappy movie, but eh) where that chick tries to burn down the house? Like that, except that it actually works.

Hey, that good be good. One of the kids is 14 and only about 3.5 ft high (no joking) he dies without being traced and his body is not found. He could have organised the whole thing and faked death for some reason.

How about the two kids (running from the hooded killer) come from the same school, and one of them was always bullied by the other.

However cause of the murders they're pushed together trying to escape, and the bully shows that they had a crush on the victim all along - cut to scene of sexual tension where the victim kisses the bully just as they reach a road out of the woods, and then kills them thinking to blame the killer.

But then the hooded killer comes along - hood comes off - surprise it was their hot teacher.. then the teacher declares their love for the bullying victim and tells them to blame the bully and say you killed them in self defence to the police.

Cut to five years later and after everything's settled down and the victim has graduated from college and there's big wedding ending on the lines ...till death do us part (and they both smirk)

and live happily ever after!

I'm afraid this is a Scout film. All the actors are 13 to 14 year old boys and if the cast were all men that scene would look really disgusting, unless you're that way inclined, Michael Jackson.

Baddie Kills the two kids on the road. Cop driving by sees this and arrests the killer. In the closing scene you see the police car pull into city where the murderer gets out in police uniform. Axe still in hand.

This is doubly funny, becuase you might as well have taken your plot from any of the Friday the 13th plots.
and of course....theres probably lots of dead people in it.

As for an ending..I suggest a no one wins scenario....

Like just as the killer is about to sluaghter his last victim...something unexpected..and confusing happens..

Like...all of the victims killed off before....come back from the dead...and as zombies...kill the killer.

This would leave any potential audience saying "?!".

..AND OF COURSE.....make room for a sequel.

You know, as tongue and cheek as that sort of idea is, it really could be a good one if it was pulled off properly. I mean, it's the quintessential copout ending that everyone is taught to avoid when making films (or at least they should be taught that), but with the proper foreshadowing and perhaps a few scenes in the "real world" it might actually be something good.

Truth be told, I've never even seen this plot device used, I've only heard it in joking reference to cheesy movie endings.

...oh, who am I kidding. Go for the killer killing everyone and getting away with it. That seems to be in vogue these days.

or have the kids run, they meet someone else (a nice old lady living alone with her son in the woods.) the kids tell her about the murders and in shock, the lady offers to have her son drive them to town where they can get help. the son pull the car out and waits for the kids (late at night.) when they get into the car and drive off, the kids find out that the son is also the murder.

and end it there.

that way, you can honestly say he did live at the end of the FILM.

Scary Movie IV: Done to Death

Two kids turn the tables on the killer, and end up killing him together... then realize they got so turned on by killing him, that they in turn become a pair of serial killers!

Or...

It turns out the two kids hired the killer to kill off all the others, whom they both held a secret grudge against.

Or...

One of the kids accidentally kills the other, in the process of also killing the killer, and then takes the fall for it and gets executed as a serial killer.

Or...

One of the kids is also killed off, leaving just the killer and one survivor. Just as the killer is about to do him/her in, it turns out the remaining kid is possessed by a demon, which takes him/her over in a startling transformation scene, and the demon then proceeds to absolutely terrorize the killer before gruesomely shredding him.

Or...

It all turns out to be a beta test of a new full-VR MMORPG. :D

Pull a final destination on us. Have the killer be caught, so the kids celeberate with a barbeque. then there grill blows up kiling both of them.

More seriously, the camping ground slasher theme has been overdone to where there's no real "surprise ending" to it. However, there is one particular take that far as I know has never been done.

Spoiler:

It would be something in between I Know What You Did Last Summer and a Spaghetti Western in theme. You would have to set up the whole idea with the storyline, but basically you could have the camping ground slasher somehow be the actual victim of the story and the "victims" are in fact a bunch of punks who inflicted a grave injustice on the killer and are either celebrating and/or hiding from the killer who all ready took out one of their numbers before the film starts.
