Oh come on, couldn't you even put on options like Libertarian, Socialist, Communist, etc?

I am a democratic socialist. What option should I take?

What about Social Liberal/Conservative Economic Liberal/Conservative...?

This is highly inaccurate... Go to www.politicalcompass.org for very accurate results.

I am a Social Conservative, and somewhat of an Economic Liberal (Like most Conservative parties), on political compass, I scored on the Y (Authoritarian) axis: 6.8, and 3.0 on the X (Economic)

In Europe liberal means approximately what libertarian means to you. Liberal was just taken as a more catchy name by American social democrats.

I don't know why. But the idea of an "extreme liberal" just seems funny to me.

what's the difference between communist and communitarian?
communism is more the economic side of the equation, while communitariansim is the political side (i believe in small, local government with greater powers instead of large, national govts)

This is the way it is in Canada. Liberal means different things in different places. Liberal in Canada is somewhat right economicly and central socially.

Where are you getting this? The only reason the democrats in the states aren't "right of center" is because they cover a broad spectrum. The German liberal party is right from center.

If you believe in government of any kind you're no anarchist.

I picked moderate liberal, and the political compass puts me at around -5/ -5, so libertarian socialist.

To me the word 'liberal' isn't much use by itself, it needs to be specified as economic or social liberal. I know it's used as a label for Democrats in the US but I don't think it's very descriptive really. I'd say the Democrats are more conservative than New Zealand's major right-wing party...

not true. well kinda. i don't believe in standard government just groups of local individuals and residents who meet (or use another medium such as the internet) to 'govern' the area in which they live, and no more.

the views of the UDCP (http://www.udcp.org/) (go to information --> manifesto) are pretty much exactly my own and sum up this odd mix pretty well.

other than that, get off my back

Exactly. All I get are American's saying "Are you left or right?1/1/1!1""?!, they (No, before anyone starts accusing, NOT all.) think the world follows their exact system. Then there are others, who say: "Are you left or right!/1/!/? Oh wait, you're European, it's different there, your liberals are right and your conservatives are left, aren't they?1/1!11!!"

They also have no regard for what lies between, as they have two parties that have monopolised their political system, they think in only two ways.

Left: Pro abortion, anti religion and hippies.
Right: Evil, war mongering and religious.

And that's it. Two extremes.

Politics on the internet annoys me.
The same with religious debating.

Edit:
Here we have many centre right (Socially) parties.

Fianna Fáil - Centre right, economically liberal.
Fine Gael - Same as the above, except slightly more socially conservative
Sinn Féin - Socially conservative (Not sure how much in comparison), economically conservative (Socialist, though unlike Spain, France, Germany, Portugal... They're not socially liberal)
Progressive Democrats - Split from Fianna Fáil. Less socially conservative, but still right of centre, not sure on their economic policy.
